I guess some people think hangman's nooses are funny!

Coast Guard Academy hit by racial incidents

BOSTON (Reuters) - The U.S. Coast Guard Academy said
on Monday it was expanding training on race relations
after two hangman's nooses were found on campus, the
first in the bag of a black cadet and the second in
a trainer's office.

"We take these incidents very seriously," said Petty
Officer Gail Dale at the New London, Connecticut,
academy. The workshops on race relations have been
held in September and would continue next month,
she added.

One noose was found in a black cadet's bag on July 15
aboard an academy training ship. A second appeared in
August in the office of a white female officer who
led race relations training in response to the first
incident, said Dale.

I know you aren't shocked anymore, but honest to god some of us are. Not by the racism itself, anybody who's honest has heard the racist comments all their lives. But these nooses are a whole other dimension that a lot of us have never seen the likes of, like those 'white proms' that I keep hearing about. I swear to you, that stuff is as foreign to some of us as if martians landed from another planet. I would be less shocked to hear of a woman being forced to wear a burqa than I am over these nooses. I can't comprehend the kind of evil hatred it takes to do something like that.

3. I was in the military in the early 80's. This stuff did not happen,

at least I never saw it. I'm white, and I was married to a black woman at that time. We didn't see it, at least on base.

What a funny joke! It's....okay, I'm just kidding. Good fucking grief - even for people who think this sort of thing is funny, could they be any more unoriginal? The noose thing has been done to death already (no pun intended).
