1.  The picture is even worse than they paint...
According to the site, the local rag here in Philly (Inquirer) is somewhat leftish because they count Trudy Rubin and Leonard Pitts as "progressive" and Charles Krauthammer as "conservative."

Those ridiculous categorizations aside, they have left out the numerous right-wing hacks (smirk, Last, etc.) that regularly pollute the op-ed pages.

From my perspective, they have right-wingers and a couple of DLC-type "moderates." They rarely (once or twice a year) have a true liberal like Sirota, but hardly ever anyone who challenges the corporate control of Amerika.

And it has gotten even worse since the paper was bought by the uber-con conglomerate headed by Toll.

4. Oh, boy. Although she's hard to characterize. Equal opportunity destroyer?
I used to enjoy reading her, especially when she was really on Bush's case when few were. But I think she's lost her touch, and is just more about meanness than anything else.

5. They left out one in my state.
There is the Cherokee Ledger in Cherokee County, GA. The publisher is very liberal even though some of the columnists are not.
