Oregon woman's lawsuit ruling another sour note for music industry (RIAA)

A Beaverton mom sued by record companies over downloaded music is fighting back -- and making some progress against industry giants.

In 2005, the Recording Industry Association of America accused Tanya Andersen of using KaZaA to distribute gangster rap under the handle "gotenkito."

The suit was dropped in June, 2007 and in the judge’s ruling Monday, Andersen became eligible to recoup lawyer’s fees.

She also has the right to refile, but is trying to make the suit a class action claim for anyone that thinks they were wrongly sued by the association.
