Screw you Jim Cramer!
Edited on Tue Sep-25-07 06:44 PM by Texas Explorer
He's on Hardball today cheering for GM CEO Rick Wagner to bust the UAW in order to save American manufacturing.

So, on behalf of my fellow union brothers and sisters of the SMWIA and in support of all UAW members on strike:

SCREW YOU JIM CRAMER!

3. I Don't Know What The Answer Is
If GM keeps shrinking it will become a specialty car company but pissing on the UAW solves nothing...

10. The UAW hasn't been the cause of GM's problems
Poor car design, marketing has been. They threw away whatever advantages they gained from their electric car program and chose to make low gas milage trucks and suv's. Even when they did well , like with the latest Buicks, they would market them poorly or not at all. A couple of the Buick models that made the "highest quality" index this year had already been discontinued!

The worker is always the easy scapegoat. GM could make their lineup in china for 1 c an hour and still figure out how to lose money.

4. Cramer has lost touch with reality
His recent tantrum about lax lending policies on CNBC was about two years too late, and he was only concerned because his hedge fund cronies were beginning to feel the pain, not because working families are struggling to keep possession of their homes as they are foreclosed one by one.

If you have watched Cramer's portfolio over the past four or five years, you will not he does not make much money. His performance is worse than the S&P 500. Every once in a while he has a good idea, but he has the attention span of a gnat so he sells out before his good ideas reach fruition. I think he has Attention Deficit Disorder, or worse...

12. He is a fucking poser, and maybe we should put, side by side, the video
of his temper-tantrum for the 7 million he feared were going to lose their houses, and this latest union buster opinion.

What a stark comparison! Major cognitive dissonance.

16. I apologize
Even though you responded in good humor, I actuall wish I had stated that differently. You are right. In fact, my sister and niece may have it, and it is not something to make light of. I am sorry.

6. So you would think that...
GM Ford and Chrysler would be all be beating down the doors of the White House with the UAW at their side screaming for universal health care.

It would save their industry.

Instead...

Insert sound of crickets chirping here.

8. Those old enough to remember know that unions saved America.
They were the engine that created the middle class; none of the corporate titans would have given this up voluntarily after Ford's $5 day. Unions have always had to fight hard. They have at times kept us from a fascist state, been key to civil rights, and assured an educated and (at one time) prosperous nation.

Not bad.

14. I have always been a Union man and indeed will always think favorably..
of Unions.... As in anything else, there are good and bad, but the idea of Unions seems obvious to me as something that will save the middle class in America.

17. Yes! and with the Union's demise we got the rise of this Fascist Republicanism
and now there's nothing to pull the Democratic Party towards the working people. Without power and money behind us...they are throwing the new loose coalitions of Grassroots/Netroots under the bus and running back over us just to show us we are NOTHING to them. We don't have the Power when they can trash the only organization we have that can dare to take out an ad in the NYT's to call Petraeus on his lies and expose the Bush Marketing Scam that "September" would be the deadline.

9. The major problem with U.S. auto makers is
they don't make cars people want. Gas prices and a stalled economy for Main Street dictate a demand for an economic vehicle, good on gas, easy to repair and inexpensive to maintain, preferably with air conditioning and an automatic transmission. All other bells an whistles can be installed in the after market.
We really need electric cars and solar panels on every house and building. We have to harness all means of energy to create electric, excepting nuclear as nuclear plants are an easy target for those who profit from terror. Wind power converted to electric and hydro electric plants are environmentally preferrable. As long as big oil can bribe law makwers don't expect much of a change.

11. Ha-ha! I know how to get Jim Cramer in the gonads.
Tell him that those laborers he's trying to screw over are part of the 7 million who will be facing foreclosure and which he was crying over just a month ago.

Guy Check!

15. A Trick He Used
My father and I used to watch his portfolio very closely, and he would add money infusions to disguise the fact he was losing money from his investments. In other words, he created the appearance of making money, while losing it on his actual investments.

18. GM's European division is doing quite well
And the European workers working for GM-Vauxhall have a much stronger union, better pay and benefits, and give input into sales and marketing. This blaming the union for GM-North America's problems is bullshit. Maybe if GM-North America actually listened to its workers, it would be more profitable.
