Compare how the reich wing treats their base and how the |
|
base, or core, of the left wing is treated.
I am a "nutroot" (a gem from an enlightened centrist).
I have voted D in every election since I became a citizen in 1976.
I have pounded the pavement for Bill Bradley.
I have made phone calls for Dem candidates I never even heard of.
I have played my role in democracy with committment and healthy motives.
And my party the Deomcratic party could give a rat's ass about me and my opinion.
Then I look at my symbolic counterpart at Freak Republic. He gets invited to chat in the White House.
That fucking sucks.

Why hasn't our party learned from 2000 not to take us for granted?
And why can't they understand that they'll be more respected for sticking to their ideals, than by meeting people halfway on the other side who will never respect us no matter what we do.

7. I think that is the very essence of it |
|
That and an elitism, a sense of royalty and superiority, that does not permit them to entertain the opinions and concerns of the unwashed masses. Labor truly has lost its voice. The working class is muted. They've managed to confuse a large swath of the population into believing they are the investor class and not actually working stiffs. Big mistake. If you can go a year without a paycheck, you might be able to make an argument, if not, you're right here with the rest of us 'cept you're wearing a seersucker suit.

14. That is, in fact, a very salient question because the evolution |
|
of DU has seen a powerful shift to the right since 2000.

the frw are in bed with the corporatemediawhores and they can say whatever they damn please(and they do) and the cmw do their best to cover up.
Imagine if the press were free and reported the facts? The frw base would be sucking dirt.

6. Look how the PARTY POWERS treats any Dem lawmaker who isn't a Clinton disciple. |
|
Any other Democratic leader gets thrown under the bus with no support unless he's on the same page as Clintons.

10. Party leadership has forgotten where the center is. |
|
The center wants wages raised, starting with minimum wage.
The center wants universal health CARE, not just universally bad insurance.
The center wants us OUT of Iraq. The only discussion is to the timetable.
The center wants offshoring stopped and jobs kept here.
The center wants to see CEOs punished for looting their corporations while shortchanging workers.
The center wants dirty money out of politics.
When you hear conservative Democrats talking about being centrists, the proper response is revulsion. When they talk of being centrist, they are talking about playing to the right wing base, people they have no hope at all of converting.
I'm getting sick of being treated like dog shit because these self styled "centrists" don't want to look at the majority opinions I mentioned and share.
They need to wake the hell up and play to the party base, where the real center is. The GOP knows how to play to their base. Why have the Democrats forgotten how to play to theirs?

19. Because they know you have no other choices to vote for.. |
|
Look at how it goes here.
If anyone talks of withholding votes from the Democrats in order to force them to do as the base wishes, that is a bannable offense.
It's support the Dems, no matter how bad they become, or go away.
What *other* form of persuasion works with politicians other than threatening not to vote for them if they do not do as you wish?
