He will not be a factor this year as he was not a factor in 2004...
He's becoming Harold Stassen without the panache...

12. He could potentially be more of a factor than he was in 2004. |

If the Democratic Congressional caucus continues to rubber-stamp Bush's war and fails to aggressively promote any sort of substantive agenda of it's own, then there will be fertile ground for Nader's "no difference between the GOP and Democrats" mantra. Like in 2000, this shtick may sweep a lot of important difference between the parties under the rug, but Nader could nevertheless gain traction with it by focusing on Iraq and the economy.
If Nader runs and Congress keeps dicking around, I'd estimate Nader gets support about halfway between his 2000 and 2004 levels.
On edit: to clarify, I'm not a huge fan of the guy. In the absence of any sort of related movements to win seats in Congress and at the state and local level, I can't take his presidential bids seriously as a force for social progress. Although Democrats need to realize that screaming obscenities about the guy isn't going to win over any of his voters -- and if you don't think his voters can be won over, then it's kind of silly to stay he's stealing them from the Democrats in the first place.
