Aerial bombardment, suicide bombing, anything of that sort?

3. I'm sure some DUers from Oklahoma City could respond to that
...I personally never have been, thank God although I have had natural disasters from hurricanes, floods and tornadoes strike close in communities, with only one instance in 2004 hit me directly. Bombs would be terrifying most certainly, as any war or random violent act would be.

4. No but I've been (nearly) hit by lightning.
The actual risk of injury from terrorism is vanishingly small.

23. Me too
I almost got hit by lightning,it put something like a mild sunburn on the right side of my body. It struck a tree near me it was blinding luckily it wasn't raining yet and I am glad it didn't get me from the ground. Scared the crap out of me, shook me up tho. But I was ok. It was loud and my ear got hurt and now I have tinnitus.
Glad that was all I got.
My grandfather was struck by lightning on his horse.
A guy my father knew was struck and killed in his back yard.. Lightning is some serious shit.

6. No, thankfully.
That is why I prefer that my government not go about the planet bombing people. No doubt about it, I am as guilty of dropping those bombs as the soldiers who do it in my name are. I don't know how any American can quibble when they start falling here. Imagine their surprise. This is not Bush's war it is our war and we need to stop it now! Peace, Kim

25. You are comparing OKC or NYC to Baghdad?
Didn't McCain try that? LOL! That is too much. No the World Trade Center attacks certainly were NOT bombings, unless you subscribe to certain conspricay theories, which is cool if you do, I have an open mind as well. Is that what you are stating? That the WTC was brought down by demolition charges?

10. I witnessed a car bomb some years ago
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 01:51 PM by NNN0LHI
Mob hit. Splattered the guy across the Tri-State Tollway in a suburb of Chicago during rush hour. A message was sent and received.

It had a lasting effect on me.

Mobster blows lid off '81 hit

Chicago Sun-Times, Feb 7, 2005 by Steve Warmbir

When the gangsters slaughtered trucking executive Michael Cagnoni, they punctuated their violence with unusual boldness.

The killers did it in broad daylight.

In a quiet Chicago suburb.

And with a car bomb that showered the road with shredded steel and body parts.

The 1981 mob hit shook the idyllic west suburb of Hinsdale and marked a new sophistication in the mob's bomb-making efforts. A clever remote-control device was used to trigger the bomb under the seat of Cagnoni's silver Mercedes.

For years, the slaying was yet another mob murder that went unsolved, one more killing added to the already voluminous list of Outfit hits that have gone without arrests.

30. I lived in London in the mid-70s
...there were IRA bombs all around. A few times, I was within a mile of them, but only felt the ground shake then saw the aftermath.

No one ever died in those particular bombings, but a lot of property damage.

,...well, I consider that a different matter.
