So; looks like Bush & Gates are going to get another 42 billion. Looks
like it, only thing Dems doing is Pelosi said would try to postpone it until after the first of the year.

1. yep, and almost every dollar will go to DEFENSE CONTRACTORS
not the troops. Sure, it will be good to get them the vehicles they've been needing, but give me a break. I know Industry got a big one today.

3. How much money so far on the Iraq war?
Imagine if we had put all those wasted billions of dollars towards infrastructure in our own country...

4. You know, they did say on MSNBC but I am so sick of it all, I don't remember.

I have thought the same thing.

#1) If we wanted to protect ourselves from terrorists, doesn't it make sense to really do some hot & heavy R&D in technology for protection right here in the good old USA>

#2) What would be wrong with increased pay for our police, fireman, teachers, etc who are on the front lines of defense.

#3) Use our national guard troops in a legal and constitutional manner by using them to support other defense employees to guard our ports, airports, borders, utilities, whatever or wherever is needed right here in the good old usa.

#4) If all of that money was used here for defense and education and health care, do you think we would be safer and better protected and how many american and iraqi lives might have been saved.

I know this was somewhat generalized but it seems like it might have been a better way than where we are now.
