Say it Ain't so Shuster
Edited on Wed Sep-26-07 07:24 PM by hnmnf
I absolutely loved his thrashing of Rep. Blackburn. Why oh why did he have to be so wrong. Now he just look likes a complete Ass hole because the soldier didnt die in her district. Now Blackburn looks like the victim.

edited for the source

Shuster Says Sorry
David Shuster just took to the air on MSNBC to apologize for an earlier segment, in which he asked Rep. Marsha Blackburn to name the last person from her district who died in Iraq. The original transcript:

Blackburn:"The name of the last soldier killed in Iraq uh -- from my district I -- I do not know his name ..."

Shuster: "Okay, his name was Jeremy Bohannon. He was killed August the 9th, 2007. How come you didn't know the name?"

Turns out Bohannon wasn't from Blackburn's district, but rather from a neighboring one.

"For that, I apologize for that mistake," said Shuster.

4. Source?
Who says this soldier was not in her district?

Is the source someone in blackburn's office? Some tabloid that no one's ever heard of? Bill OLielly?

17. Sorry, some of us don't have access to TV right now.
This just sucks. There goes Shuster's credibility. I wonder how many HAVE died in Iraq from her district? It couldn't be more than a couple, and she really SHOULD know who they were, but that won't be the way this thing gets spun. Shuster should have asked her his question about whether she knew the name and then left it at that. Blackburn's district is a jerry-mandered mess - someone posted a map of the districts in the state yesterday.

13. Well, at least a Soldier will
be recognized and not just another faceless piece of fodder and no doubt marsha will learn the names from her district in the future if any should perish in bushit's oil war on Iraq.

http://projects.washingtonpost.com/fallen/dates/2007/aug/05/jeremy-s-bohannon/

And David Shuster apologized which is more than a lot of people have done in this whole tragic sham.

24. You are right. This will get the "Rather" treatment now.
Dem: "You still didn't know the name of the last soldier from your district killed in Iraq."

Rep: "Neither did you. And the name you did provide was false."

Dem: "We have the "big picture" right."

Rep: "And you prove this by providing false information?"

That does sound like something out of 2004.

26. Man, if you're going to go after someone,
get your facts straight! Yes, I know the 'spirit' of what he said was correct, but that's not how it will be spun. You can't give them any ammunition, any. Yes, I also know that Bill O'Reilly and Limpburger get their facts wrong all the time and never issue a correction, but we don't have that luxury. Now he just looks like an uninformed bully.

Still want him to get a show over Tucker however.
