That looks horrible. Do people really think that is beautiful? I'm a little overweight and I look beautiful by comparison. At least I look healthy. The poor woman, somebody feed her for God's sake.

What I don't understand is that a significant portion of the human population lives (by choice or not) on a restricted calorie diet, but they don't get the hollowed-out look. Anorexia must have significant psychological symptoms.

that there are great many people like this out there who dress very cleverly to disguise their malady.

what is most interesting to me is the increase in the number of male anorexics due to a variety of reasons which are, like most of these issues, controversial.

One of the statements made to me by a psychiatrist patient a few years ago was that when she sees a male exhibiting these behaviors, she immediately switches over to sexual preference/gender identification issues and tries to see what's resolved and what's unresolved.
