White House cleans up Bush's grammatical mistake; removes 's' from 'childrens do learn'

Bush proudly cited a federal government report released Tuesday that showed improvements in math among fourth- and eighth-graders and in reading among fourth-graders.

"As yesterday's positive report card shows," Bush said, "childrens do learn when standards are high and results are measured."

The official transcript distributed by the White House cleaned up his grammatical infelicity, printing the statement without the S on "children."

We should reward teachers who improve student achievement in low-income schools. When you find a good teacher willing to go into a school that needs help, that teacher ought to be given an additional incentive. We should make sure our children are prepared for the jobs of the future, by expanding access to advanced placement courses and strengthening math and science education. As yesterday's positive Report Card shows, children do learn when standards are high and results are measured.

7. children also learn when parents have a job that pays enough
to survive and provide. There is less tension in the home and more families stay together. Losing a job and not being able to find another with decent pay contributes to more marriage break ups than you are ever told about publically (keep 'em ignorant, much easier to manipulate). When children see a possibility of getting and being something better there is a goal to reach. I just heard yesterday how much borrowing for a college education from private lenders and their interest rates are killing the student's financal future. When I see that other developed nations have health care and education provided for those that cannot reach it due to income, I think this nation is rotten to the core. It isn't people that are important, it is the one's able to pull it out of the system that will survive, money, wealth not human life is being supported.

11. What are we going to tell the childrens?!
Doesn't it teach the childrens to be lax about making a mistake because someone will always be there to clean it up?

Doesn't sound like family values to me.
