A progressively improving social environment can be hazardous?
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 10:18 AM by Boojatta
As an abstract idea, that seems weird, but perhaps some symptoms are familiar.

Many people become insincere conformists. Some people become openly evil or semi-openly evil, satisfied that they are at least not insincere except insofar as they find it prudent to occasionally pretend to be conformists.

Hence the term: "goody-goody."

Unlike pizza, which is still pizza when amplified to "Pizza Pizza", good becomes in some way disreputable when it is amplified to goody-goody.
