The "Rapture" Lives!! Fundies Fawning Over New Book "Rapture Redux."

Wow! New Must-Read Book on the Rapture: Rapture Redux!!
This book is awesome so far! It is called "Rapture Redux: Living With Hope and Purpose in the Last Days. So far the author Daniel J. Gansle is talking about 9/11, terrorism; what is happening in our world today, importance of prophecy, dispensatiolalism then Chapt. 2 starts w/a really amazing picture of what the Rapture will be like -

I found the book here, if you are interested you can order it (ships in 48 hrs, mine came within just a few days): (also below is a descript from the author which I picked up on the website, he also has a "why I wrote Rapture Redux" writeup on there):

Quote:

Rapture Redux: Living With Hope and Purpose in the Last Days is a life-changing book that takes on one of the most misunderstood and controversial issues of our day: the pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church. While many interpret the Rapture as a negativistic, gloom-and-doom event, Rapture Redux finds it otherwise. In fact, the Rapture is the most joyous, most blessed time in church history! Filled with hope, inspiration, life application side notes, and a passion for God’s truth in prophecy, Rapture Redux does not disappoint. Order a copy of Rapture Redux today and see what everyone’s talking about!
I highly recommend this book, it might be the best written book on the Rapture in a long time -

----
Thanks Bones!

I'm going to keep an eye out for it. It sounds very good, and I can never get enough to read about the rapture!

All about how dinosaurs were here a few thousand years ago. These people are really, truly, nuts.

8. Only if they take the gullible people with them.
Mean people wouldn't be nearly as able to inflict damage if they weren't able to convince weak minded souls to follow along with them.

4. So God, in his infinite wisdom, waited 2,000 years until this author was born, and then
decided to end the world. He does work in mysterious ways.

10. It's funny...
because a couple of paragraphs into Revelation, there's a phrase something like "I fell asleep, as in a dream."

The whole thing was a dream, people. It's over. Nothing to see. Move along!

John lived in a cave and had a bad dream about Rome and Nero. The end!

Sorry. The world's not going to die.

16. What does Rapture have to do with Revelations?

Revelations is a book in the New Testament written almost 2000 years ago.

Rapture dates back to a small Scottish girl's vision 150 years or so ago, and was limited to a few small sects until a couple decades ago when, for some reason, hordes of Christians started to embrace her vision.

18. If wishes were history
we would have no insight into Revelations beyond the second century AD. The glorious drama literally, I mean literally, depicted in that coded symbolism was the fall of pagan Rome. Instead Rome Christianized then fell at last to Aryan(heretical Christians) barbarians. And the Lord's creation spun merrily on and the Church grew.

There was a lesson to be learned that hope is not to be absolutely anchored to one's own hyped up lifetime. That wishing for another big bang to replace the unsatisfying first one won't get the Genie of the Lamp's attention. What is untrue, instead keeps snuffling up to the trough of human fancy, despite all the conjunctions of Scripture and history that already let us know exactly what happened and what we can pretty much expect.

Here's the world and all its people. You destroy it and play the glorious roles of Ahriman and Mithras, It ain't rooted in scripture any more than Christ's caveat's to forget about and look to your faith and ethics day by day.

Anyone making a personal buck out of such fantasy faith is literally walking on the dark side and promoting the destruction of God's creation for profit.

He who has ears to hear has heard enough of this bilge over the centuries to amount to misery worth a hundred years in Purgatory. SOS. same old, same old.

How about a first millennium real revival of this nonsense by having them really sell and burn all their possessions and camp out on Rapture Mountain till they roll off into the remainder of the Dark Ages?

on setting up post-Rapture care for their pets or telling them how to dispose of their worldly processions.

And so on.

17. Sort of like environmentalists.

The kid (11 years old) saw something on PBS the other day saying the supply of seafood would be wiped out by 2015. I turned to my friend and asked, "how many times has the world come to an end in our lifetimes".

"According to the environmentalists, or the fundamentalists?"

"Both."

"Several dozen times at least."

25. If you read the 'special note from author' on the website provided to the authors book
webpage it says

During the Israeli/Lebanon crisis in the summer of 2006, talk of the Rapture reached epidemic proportions. Some Christians expected the Rapture imminently, while others sat back and laughed. Some shared stories of what they were going to do just before the Rapture, while others eschewed this kind of talk, relegating it to staring up into the blue skies with jaws aghast and eyes glazed over. And still others rejected the Rapture altogether, connecting it with political ideology and spurious storytelling.

http://www.buybooksontheweb.com/product.aspx?ISBN=0-7414-4052-0

I remember that last year when they were all thinking it would happen then! It says "not connected with political ideology" -
:wtf:

Maybe it is a rebuff of the Rapture? It sounds a little like it might be at least a clarificatin that it is not political and not staring into the sky and doing nothing and ignoring the environment etc.
