Anyone care to help me defend Rather and maybe-just maybe- educate a few red staters? If you find this Rather issue important, then please click the above link and lend me a hand!

From the assinine article:

"I have obtained new documentary evidence regarding Dan Rather's relationship with his former bosses at CBS News.
Obviously, I cannot identify my source. But he told me during a collect call from Sofia, Bulgaria, that he has access to Rather's "personal files" and that his typewriter was built after 1966. To authenticate the document, I showed it to some of my kids' friends, and they said it was awesome. "

My comments:

"I learned nothing from this article, other than that perhaps the media in general is scared to death of what might come out once folks are under oath.

What are all of the Rather attackers afraid of? You would think the media would want to meet his challenge head on, in court and under oath-and clear the air for once and for all. As it is, they only seem willing to attack him in articles- I'd rather them try to take him on while under oath, in court.

It appears that Dan Rather is perfectly willing to go under oath and lay all his cards on the table...Why not CBS too?

Instead of the media ridiculing Rather, wouldnt it be interesting if the media & other Bush protectors were as willing to go on the record, under oath, as Rather is?

Right now, my instinct is to trust the man who wants to go under oath, on the record, over people who dont seem to want to have to adress any of Rather's claims under oath.

People keep claiming that Rather's claims are fake- but I'd like to see CBS make that case under oath, on the record.

Rather seems willing to allow them that opportunity..."

2. I have no hope

During the interview with Killian's secretary, she very distinctly said that the documents were Air Force. She also said in effect that the Guard had documents just like them dissing Bush. I haven't seen any follow up on trying to find the Guard's docs that basically said the same as the "forged" docs.
