Alan Greenspan Tells America That the Iraq War was About Oil...America Yawns
Edited on Thu Sep-27-07 07:37 PM by spanone
why wasn't this the headline across world.

~SNIP~ Alan Greenspan claims Iraq war was really for oil

AMERICA’s elder statesman of finance, Alan Greenspan, has shaken the White House by declaring that the prime motive for the war in Iraq was oil.

In his long-awaited memoir, to be published tomorrow, Greenspan, a Republican whose 18-year tenure as head of the US Federal Reserve was widely admired, will also deliver a stinging critique of President George W Bush’s economic policies.

However, it is his view on the motive for the 2003 Iraq invasion that is likely to provoke the most controversy. “I am saddened that it is politically inconvenient to acknowledge what everyone knows: the Iraq war is largely about oil,” he says.

1. Thing is... most people knew that anyway...
Problem was and still is to some extent.. is that some people felt that oil prices would drop, and that somehow we deserved that oil more than the people residing there.

3. Dan Rather admits that newsmedia complicitly protected Bush election in 2004.
And Downing Street Memos were the smoking gun that Iraq invasion was set up before the IWR and the IWR was NEVER A FACTOR in the decision, and no matter how it was written it would be violated.

But, hey, the newsmedia is STILL protecting Bush.

6. Would the war profiteering corporate news monopolies notice if "America" DIDN'T yawn?
Please beware of equating the reactions of the war profiteering corporate news monopolies with the reactions of the American people. It is very important to distinguish between the two, since the few rightwing billionaire CEOs who control virtually all news and opinion on our public airwaves and in print media routinely and deliberately misrepresent the views of the American people.
