Not much else I want to say here, and not sure if anyone else posted on this already (sorry if you did and I missed it). Please kick his thread and keep the good vibes/prayers coming. I have been in and out over the last two days and won't be on as much as I would like over the next week, so if you see any updates in the lounge please post them here for those who want to keep up on it.

Edited to add this (a new post just recently):

3. I just got knocked for a loop.
They live near me. I just sent OMC a PM to see if there was anything I can do.

Lawdy, I feel silly for not knowing they were nearby.

7. He posted this in loving hopes of people visualizing her healing.
Don;t think she'll mind that at all.

12. Why is it wrong?
OMC has every right to post it if it makes him feel better.
While it may be shocking for you, it might be therapeutic for him.

17. Not shocking. Just an R.N. concerned with patient rights
As I'm sure you are aware

19. HIPAA doesn't extend to the family
and legally, he is her next of kin. It's his business what he does with his photos. There are many websites out there where families can post update photos--and even though this isn't one of those sites, he is simply updating folks here.
As you are aware, would be a different situation altogether if a caregiver posted this.

23. During a medical crisis, family members are under an enormous emotional
strain. They need guidance. Without it, they often make decisions

that are later regretted.

15. She's his wife... I think he would know what she would approve of and
what she wouldn't. IF this was a pic of some anonymous woman posted by some institution or even individual you would have a point.

But I think that it's good of you to at least want everyone to consider what she would want. Now if it was my wife, she'd be mortified because her hair wouldn't be fixed, makeup, etc... Maybe Stacy's like that too. If so, OMC's dead meat when she recovers! :)

20. Please remember the uproar over Stacie Shiavo
Contemplate what you learned from that situation

Who cared about her rights? These mistakes are made every day.

Let us not repeat them. I implore you

24. It was Terri Schiavo
and her husband cared very much about her rights.

25. "It was Terri Schiavond her husband cared very much about her rights."
Meaning what? What exactly was Terri's input?

28. Her input was that she married Michael Schiavo
and in saying "I do", made her his next-of-kin to make any decision that she was not capable of making. And yes, he cared very much about her rights.

30. We learned that "well meaning" strangers shouldn't presume to tell family members of sick people
what to do.

THAT is what we learned from Terri Schiavo.

16. I'm sure you are only thinking of her privacy
but it certainly gives credibility to how sick she is. When Andy was ill there was a stir on another board claiming it was a scam to raise funds. Her picture can help us visualize her return to full robust health.

21. Bless her and her own with love and angels. Bless her with
hope and healing warmth. May God be with her day and night, protecting her and her own until she opens her eyes again and is healed. She is in my prayers day and night. She will get better. Tell her. She hears every single word you say. I say this from experience. Tell her how she is loved and that people all over this world are sending her love and healing.
