U.S. Congress agrees to raise national debt limit
WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Senate on Thursday approved a bill to raise the national debt limit by 850 billion U.S. dollars to 9.815 trillion dollars.

The debt limit increase bill was passed in the Senate by a 53-42 vote, and has been sent to President George W. Bush who is expected to sign it by Oct. 1, when the new fiscal year starts and the government hits its current borrowing ceiling of 8.965 trillion dollars....

The limit of the national debt has been raised several times since President Bush took office in 2001. The last time was in March 2006 when Congress agreed to raise the debt ceiling by 781 billion dollars.

Why is congress continuing to let that bastard run our country into financial ruin? We are borrowing money from China to pay for an illegal war, meanwhile war profiteers are directly stealing from our treasury, and they are promising to do more of the same in Iran.

When is enough enough??
What the fuck are they doing to our country and our children's future?

2. I guess they couldn't resist the credit card offers they were getting in the mail
Hey, no interest and no payments until February 2008?

You'd be crazy to pass up that! Especially when your Iraq War needs some funding and you might be giving birth to a brand new war in Iran.

3. This is insane. Absolutely insane. Our dollar is sinking like a
rock. And bush** admin 'fiscal policies' of Mickey Mousing around with the debt ceiling while the economy is tanking is insanity.

But what do they care? They've invested in foreign currency. ALL OF 'EM. Even our dems I'll bet.

(This is a two-edged sword. If the dems haven't invested in foreign currency they're a bunch of dumb asses. But if they have they need their asses kicked for bailing on the American shit of state and letting us be the only ones to go down with this leaky ship.)

4. Same old story: If some dems didn't vote to raise it, * and the pubs
would have alerted the media that the dems let the country go "bankrupt".

7. That's Republican "Fiscally conservative" management for you.
The other big run-up was during Reagan/Bush I.

You'd think people would learn something from this,
wouldn't you?
