1. WTF are they so afraid of?? WTF are our Dems so afraid of??
I keep thinking there has to be something other than 'respect' for the presidency/Bush keeping them all in line. x(

2. That's been the plan all along. It's all about Bush's legacy.
Bush wants to stall Iraq until he's out of office, because he's under some misguided impression that history will blame the failure on his successor.

3. So let the troops go on fighting and dying so the president can save face. This is so hateful and
cynical, only the Repukes could have even dared to be so blatant. The Dems need to make it clear that for the GOP this war is all about politics, not about protecting the troops or winning the war.

4. This really makes me ill. I wish some parents/spouses/siblings
would mount a campaign to call these repugs on this. :-(

5. You can't get much more cynical and hypocritical than this in politics.
What a bunch of rubberstamping cowards. How anyone can vote for a Republican after the past 15 years of malfeasance, mismanagement, corruption, and perversion is beyond my ken.

6. WHY? Do more Americans have to die so that Bush's feelings aren't hurt????

9. I wonder if that's what Repukes mean when they say that we imply the troops "died in vain"

It's not dying in vain if you died to keep Bush from feeling embarrassed ?

Seems worse than dying in vain, to me, by a lot. But then I just wouldn't understand how sensitive Republicans are about George Bush's feelings. I keep imagining how it would feel to wake up in Iraq each day instead of America, and knowing that each day I'm there is a day I could be killed or horribly maimed just because some little phony cowboy from Texas can't admit to being wrong.

8. "but wait until President Bush is out of office" ...
so, who believes that he will be out of office anytime soon? I mean, if we have another "9/11 moment" (at this point, a small child farting near the President could be made into a reason for starting a war in Iran), Faux "News" will beat the drum to keep him in office ... and besides, when has the Republican party honored the Constitution, anyway ?

10. So they keep dying for another 16 months with no chance of victory?

and this will make Iraq not a mistake and bush will look better?
