Navy Calls MySpace Kids "Alien Life Force"
Edited on Fri Sep-28-07 01:38 PM by kineta
sites difficulty in recruiting because 'the kids are such "coddled," "narcissistic praise junkies," they'll be beyond tough to bring into the military.' Oh yeah, and there's also that war. That's causing a 'recruiting nightmare' as well.

Freaking brilliant:

1. Could you fix the link?
Or maybe I will marshal my vast and unlimited computer skills and attempt a cut-and-paste.

4. Good.
So the military won't want to try to deceptively ensnare "alien life forms" to fight their imperialistic wars of aggression, right?

There are some wonderful _comments_ below the original article:

So the Navy says something like this:

"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for
authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place
of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their
households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They
contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties
at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers."

I didn't expect them to know classics. The text is attributed to Socrates.

Sad. Blame everything but commonsense distaste for killing people...narcissistic, my ass.

Now that the world is increasingly connected. The same nationalistic attitudes don't carry as much weight, because we have realized that everyone is basically the same. gasp! a Chinese friend! oh noes!

Wonderful comments! :D

5. haha, great comments
this is the information age, they have access to plenty of it and they know we have been told a baldfaced lie about this war. Tough shit if you can't recruit them, complain to your commander in chief about it then.
