I hope that after the election
anyone here who didn't vote for the Democratic candidate, whether it be Clinton, Obama, Edwards or anyone else, will quietly leave DU and go find somewhere else to whine about how things aren't getting done. If a Republican wins because you decided it's more important NOT to vote for the Democratic candidate than to vote AGAINST the Republican candidate, then the blood that's "on their hands" will be on your hands. It's no different. Everyone is saying voted for the war. Well, guess what? If you help elect a Republican in 2008 then you vote for the war. It's that simple.

1. It's plain dumb not to vote just because your candidate did
not win the primary. I think it's called sour grapes and I see a lot of that on DU.

2. And I hope that after the election and the triumphant Democrats continue
the war policies (and domestice spying and torture and...) of the pukes, anyone here who did vote for the Democratic candidate will humbly crawl back and apologize.

But, they will probably say that the Dem. POTUS and 70 Dem Senators and 350 Dem Reps. are just keeping their powder dry.

Now, which scenario has history shown us is more likely to occur?

3. So you're saying it makes no difference who wins, right?
Let's just crown George king and get it over with then.

To me, it's a defeatist attitude to think that voting will make no difference. How do you know that a Democratically controlled government will not end the war? I know that it won't end the day after the election. You should be able to grasp that. We have fucked things up to the point that it will take a while to extricate ourselves from that mess. It will take years to rebuild the military to where they need to be. But a GOP-led government will NEVER end the war. There's too much money to be made waging war.

Do you think Kucinich or Richardson or Edwards will get us out of the war by the end of January 2009? It ain't gonna happen. Hell, we're still in Korea nearly 60 years later.

4. I wonder if no answer is an affirmation?
I agree, there is a lot more that is wrong with Republicans besides war. It's totally disgusting to think that anyone here would even entertain (or threaten) the notion of letting one of them step foot in the White House again, just out of spite that their own candidate lost.

6. History has shown me that the Dems (House & Senate) support condemning
an ad, not holding Bush* accountable for any of the crimes of the past six-seven years, continuation of the corporatist policies of the GOP, continuation of allowing the minority to greatly influence, if not control, the legislation that is proposed, debated, and enacted, etc...

Now, why should I believe that larger numbers of Dems will change that?

I am not giving up. I am just asking the any-Democrat voters to acknowledge what they would do if things do not change.

7. Do people really think
bushco is just going to walk away quietly?? I don't!! That is why I think they want Hillary to be the Dem candidate. They can either beat her, or function partly through her DLC ass.

For the record, I will vote for any Democrat OTHER than Hillary in the GE. If she gets the nomination, I won't vote for her, and if I have to leave DU, then that is what has to happen. I WON'T be forced to vote for someone using scare tactics like this OP. It isn't a matter of my candidate not winning the nomination, it is a matter of principles with me.

I am sure that there are people that voted for bush just because he was the R candidate, and I am sure there are some (not including the 25% or so that follow him blindly) that regret that decision now. I won't be in that situation.

10. Fuck you, buddy
and I say that nicely.

I've voted Democratic since I first became elgible in 1980. That doesn't mean my choice was always the nominee but I voted for the nominee anyway.

In 2000 I supported Bradley but voted for Gore.

In 2004 I supported Dean but voted for Kerry.

In 2004 my first choice would be Obama but I'll vote for whoever is the nominee.

If you feel differently then maybe Nader or even Gingrich is your man. At least you won't have voted for a Democrat...
