Joyner calls out missing GOP candidates at debate. At the beginning of last night’s PBS Republican presidential forum, radio host Tom Joyner introduced the event by poking fun at the four frontrunners who had decided to skip the event, saying “hello to those of you viewing from home.” The audience erupted into cheers at the jab. Watch it:

Yesterday on CNN, PBS’s Tavis Smiley sharply criticized the snub by the four candidates — Giuliani, McCain, Romney, and Thompson — stating that they were “trying to go through this entire primary process and never have to address voters of color and never queried journalists of color.” Last night was the third minority-focused debate in which the Republican front runners refused to participate. They also skipped a debate on gay issues and a Spanish-language debate.

2. When Bush was elected Gov. in Texas, he said, "The blacks didn't come out
for me like the Hispanics did, so they’re not going to see much help from me."

And he was true to his word, wasn't he? How many years in a row did he turn down invitations to speak before
the NAACP? And this complete disrespect for the part of our population that doesn't look like him
has been passed on to the Repug candidates who also dp not feel it important to speak to African-American voters.
He sent the message out to everyone in his party that this kind of behavior is not only acceptable but preferrable.
The politics of exclusion.

Isn't he supposed to be President of all the people? I absolutely despise this man and everything he stands for.

Why would anyone who is black or Hispanic EVER vote for this bigot?
In fact, why would anyone, anywhere, vote for him? He is repulsive in every way.

Demographically speaking, San Antonio and parts of South Texas were the only parts of Texas that were blue instead of red in the elections. Historically SA is a very democratic city because of the majority of Latinos there. I don't know how it is now but I fear it is turning more and more red. I hope not.

on Edit: If this doesn't offend the majority of African Americans I don't know what else will.
