2. Why give up all of this:
1. Congress no longer needs veto-proof support for bills. Squeaking by with a simple majority becomes just fine. And if we ever lose control of congress, we gain the power of the Veto.
2. Nominations for all the important positions in government. Secretary, foreign ambassadors, etc.
3. Filling spots on the Supreme Court and U.S. Judiciary. We know how important that is.
4. Being in control of "Executive Privilege." Now, we get to wiretap them. (or, you know, stop breaking the law - either way, we win this one)
5. Control Policy. We all know that its not just the President that sets policy. There is a lot of party politics that influences this.

And lets not forget the last one:
6. We stop Republicans from destroying our country and others.

6. It really doesn't matter if I "like" them
It is if I feel that they will serve the best interests of the country, or the corporations. DLC, Insurance companies, big business, lobbiests, the nominee owes too much money to these people, how can they best serve my interests, let alone the interests of the country as a whole.

11. Yes, IF they will
take a serious look at the health care crisis, and tell me that the troops WILL be out of Iraq within 6 months of them taking office.

I only have one favorite, and everyone keeps telling me he has no chance. I have so far only totally eliminated one Dem candidate, but there is still alot of time.

Some of us have principles, morals, and beliefs that won't allow us to vote for someone that we feel will continue the same policies just because of the effin D behind their effin name. To say that is sour grapes, or "just because my favorite didn't get picked, and I not voting" is over-simplifying things.

7. Great Idea
This could be a one stop shop to add to an ignore list that sadly is getting kind of long.

9. I'll vote for Edwards if he's our nominee.
God forbid, that is. Or Clinton, or Oprahbama, or even that Dennis person.
I'm a progressive, so I'd never stay home 'in protest' and not vote.
Progress means we need to win. Losing isn't progress.

14. I probably won't if I don't agree with
the candidate. It won't really matter in my state -- the last Democratic President to win here was Kennedy. I'll probably vote third party.

16. Same here
In the five states I've lived in since 1972, I always voted for the nom. But I promised myself in 2004, I would no longer vote against my own interests. It hurt too deeply to vote for two warmongers.
