Justice Thomas writes about Anita Hill in his new book
Justice Thomas says in book Anita Hill was mediocre employee used in effort to destroy him

Breaking his 16-year public silence on his bitter confirmation hearings, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas says Anita Hill was a mediocre employee who was used by political opponents to make claims she had been sexually harassed.

Thomas writes about Hill, his former employee in two government agencies, and the allegations that nearly derailed his nomination to the high court in 1991 in his autobiography, "My Grandfather’s Son."

A copy of the book, which goes on sale Monday, was obtained Friday by The Associated Press.

Powerful interest groups were out to stop him at all costs and they chose "the age-old blunt instrument of accusing a black man of sexual misconduct," he writes.

1. what about the age old blunt instrument of accusing the woman of being a liar?
come on, dude, you were a hound dog, you got what you wanted anyway, why can't you be a gentleman and let it go?

oh, right, because you're NOT a gentleman

making excuses for yourself at this point doesn't make you look any more attractive

4. So that's why the treasonous POS is on Sixty Minutes.

He's trying to correct the historical record. You get the feeling he thought being on the Supreme Court would make him important? Instead the sycophantic toad became invisible.

7. Correct?
No, he's trying to rewrite it. He continues to harass Anita Hill and he ought to be ashamed.

5. Is he still running that line?
You weren't accused of sexual misconduct Clarence, you were accused of harassing women who worked for you. And you were a very poorly rated judge to begin with.

Why don't you get angry at those who nominated you, not because you were qualified, but because you were the only black conservative they could find, thus putting you in the position of being of being harshly questioned.

8. Bingo! ROTFL of the week!

The first wife said that he was the exact same way when she was married to him.

Anita Hill made one mistake --- working for a jerk like Thomas.

12. my favorite quote EVER: "Suck my ass with a straw!"
that's word for word, I believe, from Strange Justice, the book on Thomas by Jane Mayer and somebody else, in which they quote an anonymous acquaintance of Thomas from law school days, I think

I googled it, but nothing came up

I can assure you that I didn't imagine that quote, as it stuck, so to speak, in my mind. quite the image, eh?

can't wait for David Brock's reaction, he of "The Real Anita Hill"

the fascists really are shameless, aren't they? they KNOW they can say anything, because all they do is repeat it endlessly, and the media will either never call them on it, or mention it once or twice, while THEY repeat endlessly, so the lie is planted successfully in the lazy 'news' consumers' consciousness/unconscious

13. That Looks Like A Libel Suit To Me, Sir
Ms. Hill is not a public figure, and this is defamatory, with a reasonable presumption of malice....

she did not achieve that by being mediocre.
