|
Its pathetic to flip to every "news" channel and see this little girl paraded across the screen. Sad...

1. The Sheriff Has Asked Them To Stop Showing Her Photos |
|
And to only show the photos of Stiles.
Publicizing this helped find her.
Now they need to turn the attention away from this poor girl.

2. I haven't seen anything yet. News isn't on here yet. |
|
Are her parents with her?
What did they say at the press conference?

still with the rapist or not. They were desperate to find her and catch him - he is a predatory child rapist.

7. They started showing her pic as a "last resort" to finding her. |
|
They should stop now, obviously.

If she's been found, they should stop showing her picture.

9. Well, the cat is out of the bag, so to speak. |
|
Since her photos were all over the news and the net, what good is it going to actually do to stop showing them now?

reasons for starters-
So that she doesn't have to see herself on tv- or in the media
so that the media has as little ability as possible to continue to violate her for profit.

10. Because they showed these photos so the public can ID her. |
|
Obviously they can stop showing the photos now, since she has been found, but isn't it like closing the barn door after the horse is gone? Those photos were everywhere.

12. They should have been more discreet |
|
They should have distributed the photos locally to key law enforcement, security, etc. The way they are doing it, the guy will now change his haircut, shave his mustache, quit his job, and take on a different look. I'm also afraid this is a relative (or maybe even the father) and take the girl with him. Stupid move, IMO.

14. They already found the child. |
|
If the suspect was still there, I presume police would have removed the child from the situation, so I think there is little danger of suspect taking the child anywhere with him, unless police have absolutely no clue as to what they are doing.

I'm sure the police know what they're doing. Just venting frustration. I have no idea what I'm saying.

15. If I understand correctly, the police asked the media to do it. |
|
They had nothing else to go on, so they released information they normally would not have. Now that she's been found, they've asked that the media discontinue showing images of the girl. CNN had blurred the images out earlier.

21. It was one thing when they were still looking for her, but now that they've found her |
|
It's just sickeningly exploitive. One thing that needs to be done for that poor little baby is to get her name legally changed so this won't follow her.
