PRESTO!!! False AP Reporting Makes Limbaugh's Bogus Pushback Sound Perfectly Reasonable
Presto! False Associated Press Reporting Makes Limbaugh's Bogus Pushback Sound Perfectly Reasonable
Sep 29, 2007 - http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/horsesmouth/2007/09/presto_false_as.php

This is just sad.

The Associated Press has now covered the controversy surrounding Rush Limbaugh's now-infamous assertion that soldiers favoring withdrawal from Iraq are "phony soldiers." Unfortunately, the AP's reporting on Rush's pushback on the controversy is outright false -- so bad, in fact, that it goes much farther than even Rush himself did in falsifying the actual meaning of his original remarks.

As Steve Benen notes over at TPM, Limbaugh is now trying to explain away (http://mediamatters.org/items/200709280009?f=h_top) the "phony soldiers" comment by saying that he wasn't referring in general to pro-withdrawal troops, but to specific phony soldiers whom the left is using for propaganda purposes. Limbaugh has posted a transcript (http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_092607/content/01125113.guest.html) of the controversial radio episode, and in it, he refers to these specific "fake soldiers" later in the broadcast.

Here's how the Associated Press reported on this today (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070929/ap_on_el_pr/democrats_limbaugh;_ylt=AjuQ0TnHHhw4esxcEouoi_FI2ocA): ...............

2. any soldier permitting limbah to continue on is a phony soldier...
limbah-humbug has worked to destroy the USA for nearly 20 years- yes he panders to folks love of moms's apple pie, but only in order to get them to then look at mom as a commie terrorist democrat party supporter, especially if mom has sons and daughters in the armed service! Limbah-humbug gets away with it cuz too many soldiers have said 'i love apple pie, but hate that vile bitch who makes it because she isn't a faithful repub who votes as told to by limbah and co.' etc This going along with forces represented by people like limbah and are detrimental to the common wealth of the USA was tolerated but with bush and co. desperate and trapped by their own actions, any soldier who doesn't take action to put limbah etc outta bizness is not of any value to the present or future, and is hypothetically, actively working to destroy the country by his/her inaction...
period.

4. And has anyone challenged Limbutt as to exactly whom these individuals are...
the left is using for propaganda purposes? This sounds suspiciously like the "Some say...." tactic. In other words, a reference to exactly no one.

7. The head of AP was part of CBS 'probe' into AWOL documents and he helped lie about
that for BushInc, too.

Gee - wonder why newsmedia protects BushInc so much....maybe because FASCISTS have been controlling it for the last two decades.

9. Why is it okay to call even one soldier "phony"?
There's not such thing as a fake soldier, unless it's an eight year old with a toy rifle.

10. Maybe this is why they did the voter caging. To remove "phony" soldiers who vote wrong.
I think I just stumbled upon the true Republican meaning of "phony soldiers." Soldiers who vote for Dems!
