Where is Abbie Hoffman when you need a little humor?

Abbie would have been DOA much sooner with this current bunch running the show. I always suspected that this bunch did him in. They knew that he wouldn't have allowed the last 6 1/2 years to proceed in such a fucked-up manner.

i LOVE that shirt- it's the one that kept getting him arrested. no one alse had done it at the time.

Nowadays every NASCAR dad and his fat family wear them then throw 'em in the trash after they stink 'em up.

7. I think we can thank Hoffman for the tasers.

He was amusing, controversial and got a lot of attention for himself, if not his causes. I mean, you can laugh at a circus clown, but you don't follow his advice.

A lot of what Hoffman did was to anger the Establishment. Their view back then was, "We'll prove how oppressive they are, then all the people will realize what fascists they are, and they'll all join our cause and we'll have the Revolution!"

That encouraged the reaction Hoffman wanted, but it had negative results. The antics brought about the shootings at Kent State. The protests at the 1968 Democratic Convention helped elect Richard Nixon. The Weather Underground brought about Watergate. And the right's paranoia has built ever since, with memories of the student radicals bouncing around in their heads.

We need another Abbie Hoffman the way that dogs need another Vick.
