Huckabee Hits Bush, Compares Him To Musharraf
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee leveled some of the harshest criticisms of the Bush administration’s foreign policy yet from the GOP presidential field, saying it has mismanaged relations with Iran, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Laying out his foreign policy platform in Washington on Friday, Huckabee restated his support for continuing the war in Iraq. But the bulk of his speech was devoted to the United States’ and Bush’s shortcomings.

Huckabee said the U.S. is ignoring options besides armed conflict with Iran, has trusted the Saudis too much and has allowed Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf to go back on his commitment to allow American forces to root out terrorism within his borders.

“Just like Musharraf, since 9/11, the Bush administration has played both ends and the middle, assuring the American people that it’s doing everything it can to protect them, while tiptoeing around our supposed ally,” Huckabee said. “It’s been afraid of upsetting the apple cart, even though the cart contains poisoned apples destined for export to the United States.”

2. Of all the Repugs running
Huckabee worries me the most.

He's the real dark horse in this race. On the surface, he is witty, likable, he plays guitar in a rock band and comes across as a really decent guy. He may be a real decent guy, but scratch the surface and his politics are as reactionary as they come. :scared:

6. Huckabee and Ron Paul are the only ones I can respect.

The rest of them are your basic run of the mill shill Repukelicans. If Huckabee didn't have such a funny name and wasn't a former minister he would be very dangerous to us. He has the best political skills I've seen out of the South since Clinton. He was governor there nearly as long as Clinton. He also did something Repukes never do. He got 48% of the black vote there in 2002.

3. Any serious candidate for the
repuke nomination would have to criticize the bush reign of terror because they didn't do anything that was good for America..there's a veritible gold mine of shit to uncover.

5. Looks as if Huckabee just might be following Gingrich's
advice. Even though Newt has determined he will not himself run,
he will have a big impact on the Party. Just today he said the
Republicans in Congress are going to have to get out from "under the
Washington Umbrella." He has said some pretty strong things against
Bush. This could be a way or an opening for other Republicans
to follow suit.

Huckabee has been gradually building up. In one of the debates
he showed some foreign policy differences, but no one seem to
pick up on it at that time.

7. Well, I guess we can assume that weight he lost was his bullshit.

I have to say I like that he said it, and I'm worried that if I like it, many others will as well. This man is playing to the almost 60% of America that hates Bush, he's fucking smart doing this.

8. What an absolute dipshit Huckabee is. He's jumping up and down, screaming
"LOOK AT ME!!! I'M A MAVERICK!!! I'M THE NEW MCCAIN!!!!" Meanwhile, this isn't what he was saying six months ago--he must have gotten the memo that he should distance himself from Chimpy, so he does it in a totally ham-handed way, because he knows virtually NOTHING about foreign policy. Now he's hoping to get attention and love from the left. He's such a phony panderer and an intellectual lightweight--he makes me :puke:

12. "even though the cart contains poisoned apples destined for export to the United States"
:wtf:

Huckabee is a loon. A Southern Baptist minister, with all that that entails. He was making faith-based government appointments before Bush even thought up the term.
