GoLeft TV: Hillary and "The Fellowship"
Mike Papantonio of GoLeft TV and Air America's Ring of Fire talks with journalist Jeff Sharlet about his recent article in Mother Jones magazine about Hillary Clinton's creepy involvement with a fanatical religious group known as "The Fellowship."

(video forum only takes youtube)

PLEASE! NO MORE GOD IN GOVERNMENT! Is it really necessary to engage with these people?
I think we would be better as a nation if we stripped these religious groups of their political power.
Which candidate do you think will uphold the separation of church and state?
Who will roll back the millions of tax payer funds chimpy now has going to private religious organizations?

3. K&R!!!!
I couldn't agree with you more. How great would it be to have a candidate who refused to discuss his/her religion? Just once I'd love to hear a candidate respond "None of your damned business!" when asked about their faith.

4. Government and Religion together
kills nations from the inside out. It happened to the Dutch, Roman, England and Spain...you are suppost to learn from History and not repeat it.

8. Will that be the Countdown before the football game?
That is on both NBC and MSNBC right?
About five o'clock?
All this crap about a christian nation and returning to our christian values of our founding fathers worries me.
It seems to be effecting the political dialog and debate and it's just bunk.
They are rewriting history and it's wrong!
I want a candidate that will strongly and honestly defend the constitution.
America was not found for evangelicals! (or any other religion!)

9. I'd forgotten to come back to this. No...
...this was Bill Clinton on Keith Olbermann, saying there had been a lot of books criticizing religion in the last few years, and then he mentioned having Desmond Tutu as a guest at his new foundation, who said, on that subject, and I'm paraphrasing from memory here, that religion is like a knife; it can be used to cut bread or (someone's throat?). I've forgotten the whole analogy.

And then Ben segued to the Buddhist monks (200 now dead, but this was earlier), and appeared to me to be using their activity to say "religion" is okay.

I hope I'm not getting this wrong because I'm reporting from my own fallible memory. I was seething (not a very Buddhist thing to do)_because Buddhism is not a *religion* in the sense that fundamentalist evangelism is. It's a philosophy, more than anything.

I'm liking Bill Clinton less and less. I defended against the howling mob that tried to take away his legitimate presidency (as far as I can tell), but he's too cozy with the Bushes for my taste.

We need new blood in the presidency. We threw off royalty, divine right of rulers, dynasties back during the American Revolution!

Sometimes, they come back!!!

10. Yep, history; the department of redundancy department
Religion and the "evil outsiders" - two favorites of the authoritarian types that tirelessly undo representational governments.

Power to the plebes, I say.

12. Here's a link to the original Mother Jones article
<http://www.motherjones.com/news/feature/2007/09/hillarys-prayer.html>

Gee, and people wonder why so many think there's little or no difference between the two parties. Corporate controlled candidate? Check! Candidates are both pro-war? Check! Candidates both are seriously tied into the whacko sect of Christianity? Check!

Just one more reason I can't vote for Hillary, ever.
