Iraq and illegal immigration
Supposedly, it would take about a year to move 200,000 troops out of Iraq.

RIght wingers and even some on the left are calling for the US to deport the 12,000,000 illegal immigrants here.

Now, if it takes the Armed Forces a year to move 200,000 well trained, well organized people who want to leave, what's it going to take to go out and find 12,000,000 people who want to stay and ship them back to their assorted countries? (Believe it or not, not all illegal immigrants are from Mexico.)

I know a lot of people hate the word amnesty, but it'd be a hell of a lot cheaper. We've got to save moeny somehow; there' s a war on you know.

3. Hey, it was late at night when it occurred to me.
All those anti-amnesty people - just how do they plan on going around raounding up 12 million people and shipping them out?

4. I am not one of the "anti-amnesty" people, but I expect that their
support goes to the idea of "self-deportation". If you make life here miserable enough, for the illegal immigrants they will chose to go back to the country that they went through so much to leave. It will be a challenge to make their lives here miserable enough so that Guatemala or Bolivia or Mexico look good by comparison, but at least it is the cheapest way to get rid of these people.

If I have mischaracterized their position, I hope that an "anti-amnesty" person will correct me.

5. Last night the local cops were running a DWI check point with
the Border Patrol and "just happened" to pick up a bus load of illegals coming home from a farm a half mile away. I guess that's one field of onions that won't get to market this year!

6. Hey - I just found out that Iraq IS connected to controlling illegal immigration.
The Saudis have built a $7 Billion fence to keep out Iraqi refugees. Clearly, this is a test project for our own border fence!
