Israel wants to make excuses for war: Syria (Reuters)
29 September 2007
DAMASCUS - Syria said on Saturday Israel wanted to create excuses for war by spreading false reports that an Israeli air raid targeted a site linked to weapons of mass destruction. Syrian Deputy President Farouq Al Shara said his country did not want war ‘in the distant or near future’.
‘They (Israel) are making up things to justify an aggression in the future. They are playing on public opinion to mislead it,’ he said, describing the reports as fabrications.
Damascus says Israel launched the air raid on Sept. 6, bombing an empty area after air defence systems confronted the aircraft. Some US officials have linked the raid to apparent Israeli suspicions of secret nuclear cooperation between Damascus and North Korea. Israel has said nothing about the reported air raid, which Shara said caused no casualties.
Damascus and North Korea have denied any nuclear cooperation.

Banks do this all the time.. Whenever they are robbed, they deliberately downplay the amount of money taken..and sometimes say NO money was taken.. This is to discourage anyone else who may plan on trying it..
The same goes for national leaders. Only The US cried like a baby about what we have "lost"..
I KNOW that the WTC was a horrific event, but the way we handled it (or didn't) afterward has played a big part in the determination of our "enemies"..
Syria is just trying to let everyone know that "nothing of value" was lost..so there!

They're trying to get us all killed. What do they think -- that they are immortal? It's insane already.
