This is heartbreaking – leave my dad alone, says Jenna Bush
Sarah Baxter

ONE of the twin daughters of President George W Bush has spoken of the heartbreak she feels about the Iraq war and the criticism of her father. “He is a totally different person to me than what they portray him as,” said Jenna Bush. “I mean, he’s my dad.”

The party girl who stuck her tongue out at reporters and was charged with underage drinking publishes a book this week called Ana’s Story, about an HIV-positive teenage mother whom she encountered on her travels in Central America with Unicef. She said she had met Ana and her baby in Panama, where the young woman had declared: “We are survivors.”

Jenna, 25, who is known as the “blonde one” of the Bush twins, has found her sober side. Asked about Unicef’s report that 4m Iraqis had fled their homes since the invasion of Iraq, she said: “Nobody wants war. I definitely, and my father doesn’t want war. But it’s a horribly complicated situation.” She added: “I can say it’s devastating . . . I think everybody can agree on that . . . Obviously, all of this breaks my heart.”

Among the experiences that affected her deeply was visiting wounded veterans of the war with her father. “I’ve gone with him to Walter Reed hospital and I’ve seen his face after he’s left the hospital. He would have to be inhuman not to feel it. I mean, of course things weigh on him. Of course they do.”

She's been programmed to be a member of a predatory class.

so that she can assume the Bush legacy. The next President Bush won't be a natural blond but she does appear to be an intellectual chip off the old block. Sadly, there won't be much of a country for her to inherit. Considering how despised her family name will be by then, she'll have to rule the nation from the family hideout in Paraguay, but hey, at least she understands how complicated it will be.

72. I used to try and feel for them, too, but they proved they never deserved that
consideration as they know damn well their family has pushed this entire world to the brink - and Bush2 is the result of the BFEE's agenda.

Now all they need is some smiling Dem faces to mask it for a time and then push it even further for them - like before.

84. She gives us blonds (and blondes) a bad name.
She's as vacuous and clueless as a stereotype. For her, the archetypical beauty queen's empty rhetoric in favor of "world peace" (mere pandering for money) seems to be the pinnacle of what passes for humane. Pitiful.

And we don't believe one word of it. If the war does, in fact, break your heart then perhaps you can try to influence him to end it NOW as no one else seems to be able to reach him.

92. "You phuckers! He just had some polyps removed from his ass and his best friend, Dick, is a robot"
so,leave him alone. He didn't want to kill a million people in Iraq - he had to. He had to kill them because PNAC told him to and he wants to be friends with PNAC. I can't believe you guys don't know this about him, but he really wants to be friends with PNAC. If he hadn't dropped all those bombs in Iraq, then they would just be laying around somewhere gathering dust. You phuckers, leave him alone! You don't know him like I know him. Sometimes he'll leave the liquor cabinet unlocked and then go to bed early and then he will tell me on his way to bed, "don't stay up too late, Punchy." It's his way of saying, "have as many pretzels as you want, but don't fall on the coffee table." You don't know him like I know him! He gets headaches from even thinking of what to say to the people. He doesn't get much rest because Mom wakes him up for photo-ops early in the morning. It isn't like it was when he was just the Governor of Texas and no one cared if he ever got out of bed. People expect to see him out of bed before noon now and they want to see him working at his desk vetoing bills the Democrats have passed to help children. I can't believe you guys don't know that. He isn't as bad as they say he is, not really. He even rides a bike once in awhile to prove that he doesn't get free gas for all his cars. And, yes, he has big cars, but then he worked hard for Nron, or someone named that, and they gave him those big cars. So, leave him alone! It's not his fault he's the President, anyway . . . it's yours.

are completely unreliable. A few years ago, Baxter wrote a story about Cindy Sheehan appearing at a Hugo Chavez rally: in fact, Sheehan hadn't even been in Venezuela at the time, and Baxter was reporting as fact some wild rumor she had heard without bothering to check whether it were true.

When that woman with HIV told Jenna how she wouldn't be able to work, Jenna said something to the effect "You can still get a good job." Huh? As much as people with HIV are stigmatized in places like Jamaica, and their lives are threatened by people wanting to kill them for being HIV positive, and Jenna thinks that woman can still get a good job?

Her intentions may have been good, but she's extremely naive.

32. Life always looks different from inside the mansion.
There's endless footage of the fake-ass "Texas" swagger. He's not a cowboy, Jenna. He's afraid of horses. Just ask his amigo, Vicente Fox.

He laughed at and mocked death row inmate Karla Faye Tucker. Oh, wait...that was before he was "born again." Never mind.

Karla Tucker and George W. Bush

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karla_Faye_Tucker

Under state law, Texas governors do not have the power to commute death penalty sentences, only to briefly postpone an execution pending further review by the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles (most members of which are appointed by the governor - including the chairman, who according to the Texas Administrative Code serves "at the pleasure of the governor" (RULE §141.1)). Before Tucker was executed, there were pleas for clemency from Waly Bacre Ndiaye, the United Nations commissioner on summary and arbitrary executions, the World Council of Churches, Pope John Paul II, and Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi, among other world figures. Unusual pleas came from conservative American political figures such as Newt Gingrich and Pat Robertson, interceding on her behalf. Tucker did not ask for a pardon, only commutation of her death sentence to life in prison. Huntsville Prison's warden testified that she was a model prisoner and that, after 14 years on death row, she likely had been reformed. Despite these pleas, Bush signed her death warrant. In 1999, during the 2000 Republican Presidential primary race, conservative commentator Tucker Carlson interviewed Bush for Talk Magazine (September 1999, p. 106). Excerpt from this interview is quoted below:

In the weeks before the execution, Bush says, a number of protesters came to Austin to demand clemency for Karla Faye Tucker. "Did you meet with any of them?" I ask. Bush whips around and stares at me. "No, I didn't meet with any of them", he snaps, as though I've just asked the dumbest, most offensive question ever posed. "I didn't meet with Larry King either when he came down for it. I watched his interview with Tucker, though. He asked her real difficult questions like, 'What would you say to Governor Bush?'" "What was her answer?" I wonder. "'Please,'" Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, "'don't kill me.'" I must look shocked — ridiculing the pleas of a condemned prisoner who has since been executed seems odd and cruel — because he immediately stops smirking.

Bush denied that he had intended to make light of the issue.

He lied about WMDs in Iraq and then made jokes about it at the White House Correspondents Dinner.

Bush Jokes About Lack of WMDs in Iraq
President Bush has been widely mocked for his administration's failure to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Now, in one of the more baffling comic turns of his presidency, Bush himself is getting in on the act.

As part of a light-hearted comedy skit at the annual Radio & TV Correspondents' Association dinner, Bush showed a series of "dorky-looking pictures of himself," according to the Washington Post. "A recurring joke involved photos of the president in awkward positions — bent over as if he's looking under a table, leaning to look out a window — accompanied by remarks such as 'Those weapons of mass destruction have got to be somewhere!' and 'Nope, no weapons over there!' and 'Maybe under here?'"

The politicians and media bigwigs in attendance laughed heartily, but critics — including John Kerry — were not amused. "If George Bush thinks his deceptive rationale for going to war is a laughing matter, then he's even more out of touch than we thought," Kerry said. "Unfortunately for the president, this is not a joke."

Watch the video clip or read Bush's full remarks and judge for yourself.

Dear Jenna,

As of today, 3803 American men and women in the Armed Forces are dead because of your father's compulsion to prove that he is a better man than his father. Another 36,943 have been wounded...physically, and perhaps mentally scarred for life. (Source: http://icasualties.org/oif/)

Your husband-to-be, Henry Hager, is 29 years old. He could enlist today and after basic training be on active duty in Iraq. But that will never happen, will it? Former aides to your father's brain never go to Iraq, unless it's for a photo op. You know...the kind your dad did with the plastic turkey while the service men and women had to get up at 3:00 AM to accomodate him.

It's understandable that you're thinking of your feelings, and your father, instead of the men and women who are fighting in your father's war in Iraq. You're just behaving as any good Bush would. I'm sure your dad is proud.

36. no, Jenna what is really heartbreaking
is the tens of thousands of Iraqis who have been killed, and the tens of thousands whose lives have forever been changed by the actions of the lies from your father. Families who have had to flee Iraq. Honorable women who have been forced into prostitution to support their families. Children whose have been orphaned. All due to the lies of your father. That is heartbreaking.

He was jonesin' for a war. He was salivating, champing at the bit. He couldn't wait for Shock and Awe. He didn't give a shit about mass murdering hundreds of thousands of Iraqis. And it has all gone as planned. Contractors with Bush administration ties are rollin' in the dough. Mission Accomplished. Now it's on to Iran, so the pigs can feed at the trough forevermore.

I bounce back and forth between feeling sorry for someone who has grown up so sheltered (and therefore oblivious to what life is like for a majority of the world's population) and just seething with contempt. I'm highly suspicious of this "Ana" story, and I swear I think the Bush family has hooked up with some kind of P.R. entity to try and shore up the Bush family image by sending one of the twins out to meet "the little people." She's way out of her depth. I'll believe she's sincere when both of the twins are packed off to Iraq in their little pink, rhinestoned fatigues, and learn what the war is really about.

79. She is not a "girl". She is 25 years old.
She seems to have the maturity level of a pre-teen & a low IQ yet she is 25 years old. Her book was written for the pre-teen & early teen market. Repug mothers are buying this book for their daughters. Jenna Bush is fair game for critics because she campaigned for Busholini. She is not a victim. She has chosen to be in the public spotlight. Would a book like hers have been considered for publication if she was not the daughter of a Pres.? I doubt it. Still, if her book brings about positive changes in young people's minds then she has done something worthwhile. One cannot automaticly dismiss her just because her father is a Silver Spoon Sociopath. If she donates profits from this book to the very cause that she has written about I must give her kudos. We shall see, won't we?

70. My response.
I am sorry , Jenna. Perhaps somewhere within you, there might be a decent human being lurking, but I find this little tear-jerking diatribe of yours completely disingenuous to say the very least.

Your father is at best a useful idiot of a puppet, at worst a giggling murderer and psychopath. Wherever he falls in line as far as responsibility in the tragic timeline of events over the past seven years, he and his administration have been responsible for countless crimes. They took the country to war based on lies, and so many have perished because of a narrow, psychotic agenda that has nothing to do with democracy, freedom or the greater good.

In fact, if you look at the actions of your family over the past few decades, going back to Prescott's financing of the Nazis, and everything that has happened in between, you could hardly make a case for your family being on the side of any greater good at all.

For you to say all of these things in "defense" of this particular monster in your family tree, without even bother to acknowledge that at the very LEAST that SOMEWHERE, SOMEHOW, that he should bear some sort of responsibility, consequence, or accountability for the things he has done, I'm sorry, it smacks of nothing more than the propaganda we have been subjected to for so long.

You're heartbroken? Devastated?

Fuck You, Jenna. And Fuck your family.

This COUNTRY is broken. This COUNTRY is devastated. Our place in the world has been destroyed. So MANY of our soldiers have payed the ultimate price that they should have never had to pay, and the one's who survive have a bleak future ahead of them as well, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Bottom line, those of us who can think, and see, and know, absolutely KNOW you people could not give less of a shit about us.

So I leave you with a Fuck Off Farewell in a language even someone like you can understand.

In the words of Travis Tritt,

Here's a Quarter.....

Call someone who CARES....

An Epidemic Failure
Whatever happened to Bush's pledge to combat AIDS in Africa?
GERALDINE SEALEYPosted Jun 02, 2005 12:00 AM

When President Bush introduced his global AIDS initiative in January 2003 -- calling it "a work of mercy beyond all current international efforts" -- the plan certainly sounded promising. Bush pledged to spend $15 billion over five years to provide life-saving drugs to at least 2 million people with HIV, prevent 7 million new infections, and care for the sick and orphaned in fifteen countries. Most of the money, the president declared, would go to sub-Saharan Africa, home to the majority of the world's 40 million people living with HIV and AIDS. In the hardest-hit countries, nearly forty percent of the population is infected, and 12 million children across the region have lost at least one parent to the disease. "I believe God has called us into action," Bush declared during a trip to Uganda in 2003. "We are a great nation, we're a wealthy nation. We have a responsibility to help a neighbor in need, a brother and sister in crisis."

The president's AIDS initiative, like his invasion of Iraq, is a go-it-alone affair that ignores the clear global consensus on how to fight AIDS. In launching his own initiative, Bush has shifted the bulk of U.S. money away from the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, an international organization that has funded projects in 128 countries and is widely recognized as the best way to distribute AIDS funds. "Bush is starving the fund," says Dr. Paul Zeitz, executive director of the Global AIDS Alliance. "It's despicable, frankly."

In addition to shortchanging international relief efforts, Bush is using AIDS funds to place religion over science, promoting abstinence and monogamy over more effective measures such as condoms and sex education. Before overseas groups can receive U.S. funding, for example, the Bush administration requires them to take a "loyalty oath" to condemn prostitution -- a provision that AIDS workers say further stigmatizes a population in need of HIV education and treatment. Brazil recently became the first country to rebel against the oath, announcing in May that it was rejecting $40 million in AIDS grants from the administration. "What we're doing is imposing a really misguided and ill-informed ideology on top of a public-health crisis," says Jodi Jacobson, executive director of the Center for Health and Gender Equity in Takoma Park, Maryland.

Of course she was brought up in a sheltered environment and taught to idolize her dad. She is a young adult and must be starting to realize that there is something wrong with her worldview. At this point, though, she seems to be fighting hard to reconcile her competing points of view and not acknowledge that her father really might be wrong.

102. You father can walk away anytime, Jenna
He can wake up tomorrow, eat an "everything" bagel, get on national TV, announce his immediate resignation, and just walk away from the whole mess with the taste of poppy seeds and onion flakes still in his mouth.

When he's affecting the lives of billions of people on this crowded planet of ours, Jenna, any alleged 'heartbreak' he is suffering is inconsequental. His 'hurt feelings' are irrelevent when judging his job, simply because there is so much at stake for so many people.

Besides, you are his daughter, Jenna. Unless you've had one hell of an eye-opening event, you still see him through a daughter's eyes, and children almost always love their parents, right or wrong. It's a filtering mechanism. So your perceptions of him are not necessarily better then ours.

Jenna, your father has issues and deficiencies that make him a very bad choice for leadership. Without his family connections and wealth, and the fact that the political elite see him as a useful tool to employ for their own economic and political gain, your father would be working a unskilled job on the weekend shift in a factory someplace. He would keep out of the eye of management and be on the looser rules of a night/weekend shift job, which would save his ass because he'd be fighting the demons of alcohol and cocaine (or most likely, crack and/or meth) only three days a week instead of four or five. And if he showed up hung over, well, that's more likely to be overlooked on a weekend shift job.

Sorry, Jenna, but your father's an incompetent, egotistical, psychopathic ass. And because his incompetence, egotisticalness, psychopathicness affects most of the world, instead of just his immediate family, neither his nor your feelings are allowed to matter.

122. open your eyes jenna. your father lied us into war. he did not even want for anyone to grant
Edited on Sun Sep-30-07 07:39 PM by flordehinojos
political assylum to saddam hussein. he did not want him to be an exile anywhere on this earth.

your father enjoys war. he does not care who dies but he cares about his war pResident image.

Lees español, i believe i have heard it said. Read the transcript of the talks between AZNAR and your Father right before the INVASION AND OCCUPATION of iraq by your father's orders. ...you'll see how much your father wanted hussein's skull.

you say you have matured. hold him to account. not us. we are just calling it like it is. your father is not a nice person. he might be to you (but i wonder if inside your head you have any doubts about him and his invasion and occupation of iraq). don't make excuses jenna. if you have grown up as you say you have, stand up for truth ... it might help your father more than you think.

129. Honest question. How old would a daughter have to be
before she becomes guilty for supporting her father's odious behavior? 18? 16? 14? This is an actual serious question. I'm not trying to pick a fight, I just want to know what people think.

131. Truly George is her father
that tends to cloud things a bit

The kids of Sadamn also loved their father.

And so did the kids of Caucescu

And other terrible leaders

I'm not going to justify her, but I can certainly understand it.

Denial is deep... and truth be told... it is her father.

You know the Hitler Family, they had a hell of a time after the war. In many ways, the Bush Family will have similar issues if and when this is over. It will not end well.

134. And other families, whose children could have survived and did not
... because of the thought that the world would punish their children for the parents' crimes. :-( I don't think that was true, but I can understand the thought, given the things people did and still do say.

he hates all life on Earth, perhaps not yours or your moms. Your dad is the third biggest prick on the planet. I would have to say, gosh, fucking deal with it. Go booze down the hound. Party and look stupid. Enjoy your easy life of privilege and royalty.

Dad sucks. :(

140. "Leave my dad alone"--what BS. If he wanted to be left alone and not criticized, he should have
stayed the hell out of politics.

You need an alligator hide to be in politics. Bush is so thin-skinned.
