If you like what's going on in this country, don't click on this thread
and don't watch this video

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu_SHfmJJys&NR=1

It was made at yesterday's march in DC. It is about the people who were there. Some to end the war on Iraq, some to express concern about health care, some to ask for help on the Gulf Coast, some to demand that the Jena 6 be freed, some wanting help for AIDS sufferers, some to ask for help for the poor, some to ask for the removal of our military from places all over the world, some to demand no war on Iran, some to demand the truth about 9/11, some wanting Palestine to be freed, some wanting immigrant rights, some demanding impeachment.

Yes, many causes. Many people. All united in the knowledge that ending the war on Iraq and spending our money helping people rather than destroying countries is a cause we can all embrace. All united in the knowledge that this administration is BAD for America and it's time for Congress to hold them accountable. All aware that marching TOGETHER is more important than choosing one cause as more important than another. Yes, the big picture is the war but the resources wasted in Iraq can be used in so many different ways here at home.

So if you don't like a mixed message, if you think these marches and rallies should focus on ONE cause, then please don't watch this video. If you don't understand what a struggle we have before us and how important it is for us to unite, then this video will probably upset you. And if you don't see the multiple problems facing Americans then you probably like what's going on in America and it would just be a waste of your precious time and your beautiful mind to watch this video.

8. Well
I was thinking about how best to avoid getting a thread locked. So I didn't mention the status quo vote idea. But you know I am with you on that. :)

7. I think the progressive independent philosophy is excellent
Every single cause - UNITE! I think it's brilliant. Anti war, environmentalists, anti poverty, pro worker, and everyone in between get together because we're all fighting one enemy: The giant corporations run by the super wealthy. K & R.
