German website adds international angle to 'draft Gore' movement
Democrats heading the still-strong movement to convince Al Gore to mount a presidential run are being given a run for their money in sheer, "Draft Gore" zeal -- all the way from Germany.

This August, Michael Kachel, a 42-year-old IT director from Munich, launched what may be the first foreign website dedicated solely to luring the former vice president into the 2008 race.
http://www.algore2008.de/

"We want to offer a forum for everyone to send a clear signal that there are many people in Europe who are in favor of a candidate Al Gore," Kachel told RAW STORY by email.

"However you will decide," he wants Gore to know, "we want to show you that we appreciate very much what you are doing and what you are: a rare species of politician, a noble man, a man with a genuine vision.”

2. I like these quotes:
Edited on Mon Oct-01-07 11:06 AM by rosesaylavee
"...As for the Democrats, Kachel praises Hillary Clinton for her "brightness," and singles out Barack Obama as a Kennedyesque charmer that would make an "inspiring vice president."

But there's no talking him out of his man.

"Who else could shoulder the challenges of this time?" he asks, going on to explain that the biggest reason a man like Al Gore should be president is simple.

"America," he said, "deserves it."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit to add this. Here's the babel fish translation of that German Draft Gore page: http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/tr

And my favorite quote from that:
"...Some comments are like caricatures, which represented George W. Bush as a "dark US rogue, that the world like a bound woman on the rails put and for the course wait."

They are comparing * to Snidely Whiplash...

4. I disagree.
I don't think we or anyone else deserves the * administration. They are criminals and deserve to spend the rest of their lives in federal prison.

But of course we agree on Mr. Gore running this election! Be sure to check out the extra quote I added to my post. Its a hoot. :)

5. We can agree to disagree.
All I'm saying is that when the Iran-Contra investigations were shut down it set the stage.

A fascist nation might just deserve a tyrant.

 at the Snidely Whiplash comment.

6. Oh well, that. Then we agree. Iran Contra
and now the non-impeachment of these criminals. Let's not punish the criminals and let them reappear again in 10-20 years when our collective memory disremembers what they did.

7. Gore's got a lot of supporters around the globe
who want him to run. And he's right Gore is . . . a rare species of politician, a noble man, a man with a genuine vision. He's also one who is trusted around the world for putting the future of mankind at the top of his agenda.
