and it got me thinking about something I read yesterday (kind of a long read, but well worth the time):

You pick up a rock to see what's under it, only to find another rock.

Reminds me of this lunchbox I had as a kid.

It was shaped like a School Bus. There was this line of kids standing by the bus and one of them was holding a lunchbox just like mine.

On that lunchbox there had to have been another kid holding a lunchbox just like ours. Endless images. I used to think about that a lot.


Maybe I should not write stuff so early in the morning. Maybe wait until I am more awake.

2. I Wonder Every Time

Every time I post something less than complimentary about this Administration on DU or other websites, it briefly crosses my mind to wonder is this the time someone will take notice and come looking for me, audit me, start asking questions, get me fired? Should I have used something more clever to veil my real identity? Should I be preparing for the bunker? A prison? The grave?

I've experienced my own daily occurrences of ZT. A silly one (I think) recently over my just-under-21 daughter's presence with me in a "nice" upscale liquor store. I have rheumatoid arthritis and some days can barely use my somewhat twisted hands, much less type or play my guitar or sign my name intelligibly. That day, I asked my daughter to pick up a larger pack of beer than I could handle (they were out of smaller units) and carry it up to the counter for me. Which got her carded and told not to come back (because she had touched the beer, picking it up for me) and me accused of purchasing it for a minor. Never mind that I might have done so without bringing her into the store, had I so chosen. The result was, of course, my formal complaint to the owner and the decision to take my business elsewhere, guidelines or no guidelines.

I have my own "zero tolerances" for stupidity, fraud, and hypocrisy, but it feels like no one is listening to me. Except maybe the enemy.
