We’ve all heard the phrase “… man’s inhumanity to man.” Unfortunately, there are still far too many people who can’t grasp that Bush, Cheney, and their henchmen are barbarians -- master practitioners of death and destruction.
Is there really anyone who thinks that they give a moment’s thought to the countless deaths and misery they’ve caused, are still causing, and will continue to cause? Does anyone believe they lose sleep over those who have lost limbs, sight, or sanity?
Put bluntly, Bush, Cheney and their sycophants are toxic, poisonous beings that see themselves as more entitled to the world’s wealth, resources and comforts than the “mere peasants” over whom they rule. One can argue about their sanity, but there’s no question about the venom and darkness they bring to this world.
The phrase “compassionate conservatism” is nothing more to them than a phrase to misdirect fools. In reality, they are what we need to banish forever: -- Inhumane beasts who feel nothing and thrive by feeding off of their own species.
If and when they are torn from power, they must be held accountable, whether here or in The Hague, for the principals we established at Nuremberg. They must be charged and tried for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
And if the Democrats win the presidency and larger majorities in congress, this is a demand that we must make of them. To just “let it go” is unthinkable to people of conscience.

1. Well, said and you are absolutely right. |

I have been thinking a lot about how we are going to go about holding them accountable. Our system is broken so our Congress is too chicken to use the tools that they have to bring them to justice. It takes a sovereign nation to bring up charges in the Hague against heads of state. Who would that be Iraq? I think it's going to be up to us the people to try to push law suits to bring them into the lower courts and get the ball rolling. I'm not a lawyer. I wish some patriotic lawyers would form a think tank and brainstorm how to go about doing this. We the people vs. the Executive Branch of the United States and charge them with unAmerican activities, corrupt elections, racketeering, war crimes, treason and anything else we can throw at them. Hopefully some of it will stick.

4. If we don't prosecute their crimes, it won't be long before the next bunch |

of fascists come along with the knowledge that they'll get away with whatever they want to do.
And I agree with you. I wish "some patriotic lawyers would ... brainstorm how to go about ..." bringing these arrogant bastards to the bar of justice.
