6. One of the news commentators seemed to praise
Lee's practice of hiring "a certain type of cop" who kept New Orleans type of crime out of Jefferson Parish. That's when I turned off the News.

2. Definitive Harry Lee moment from my all-too-brief time in NOLA
There is a place where a poor, black New Orleans neighborhood called Hollygrove abuts a rich, white Jefferson Parish neighborhood, Old Metairie. (Old Metairie was David Dukkke's power base at the time, but I digress.) Only one road connects the two.

Well, don'tcha know, ol' Harry Lee got it in his head that all "those people" were bringing their crime into Jefferson Parish over that one road. So he did exactly what you or I would do :sarcasm: : he built a concrete barrier across the road! Finally N.O. mayor Sidney Barthelemy (a Creole of mixed race) went to the barrier and knocked it down with a sledgehammer.

4. Hello KamaAina
It will be all Harry Lee all the time in NOLA for awhile. Wish you could come back and vote against Bobby Jindal this month. He's getting roughed up just a little bit, hopefully he won't win on the first ballot.

5. He ought to be roughed up more than "just a little bit"!
http://ashleymorris.typepad.com/ashley_morris_the_blog/2007/09/flood-insurance.html

Flood insurance bill passes...
...and people in Illinois don't even bother to vote against it. Thanks, Nancy.

Wait, hold on.

Jindal didn't bother to show up, either.

Fuckmook.

I mean, really, if you can't hammer the little twerp for missing a key vote that would directly benefit his own constituents, you really need to be looking around for another career, like casino greeter.

And then there's his non-response to the Jena 6 case:

http://righthandthief.blogspot.com/2007/09/phrases.html

Jindal was in Shreveport yesterday, and in a comment broadcast by the local CBS affiliate, he said that the Louisiana court system works great, and that we don't need "outside agitators" to come here. Yes, he really used the term "outside agitators".

Fuckmook.

Wait a minute -- you can't vote against him, either, being in MS and all! Why blame me?! :P

7. No blame my friend
but the commercials against him have been very good. He's taken to calling all his opponents "corrupt" and that has ruffled a few feathers. He's gone from badass commercials to being a candidate with "values." Walter Boasso ran a commercial about when he was secretary of health and whatever. A little old lady kicking his ass about sending her mentally handicapped brother out on the street. Lots of negative ads from many sources. I fail to see his appeal.

10. That would explain it
I have no doubt duke would carry St Tammany in any election he entered. Is there any way possible to make the traffic on Gause any more horrendous then it already is?

14. "The traffic on Gause"
To hear the locals tell it, it's the fault of ALL of those New Orleanians who invaded THEIR town after Katrina.
I think that I'm the only person in Slidell, who haven't met any Katrina/New Orleanians. The newbies that I've talked to are from Challmette, St. Bernard and Pearl River.

11. Was that actually a Boasso ad?
I seem to remember noting that particular ad wasn't affiliated with any candidate- I could be entirely wrong, though. I've already started tuning out the advertisements.

As for his appeal, he's out there saying all of the "right" things to get the uber-right all worked up. I've little doubt that he lost to Blanco four years ago because of his skin color, but I think the typical repubs are over that now. Four years of Blanco certainly helped (sorry, but I am NOT a Blanco fan).

12. The old Lady from Slidell talking about her brother?
In small print at the bottom of the screen it says (in so many words) paid for by Boasso for Governor Campaign - or some such words.

I love his current commercials. The "corrupt crowd" garbage ain't working so now he's mister values. A piece of fucking shit in my mind.

13. OK- I'll take the lashings, if necessary....
Jindal has done the "family values" thing before (his wife and kids have been props for quite some time)...

He graduated 3 years ahead of me in high school... I kind of got sick of hearing his name then, so now it's like going back to high school, except I'm all old and shit....

Barthelemy's sledgehammer or maybe I just don't remember. WOW!
