What's Wrong With Amy Goodman? |
|
I just turned on Democracy now to watch Amy's interview with Sy Hersch and notice that there seems to be something wrong with Amy. She almost looks like she had a stroke or maybe bells palsy. Has any one else noticed this and does any know if something is wrong.

1. I had Bells Palsy two years ago and that's exactly what it looks |
|
like on her. The problem is that it takes awhile to go away. There is no quick fix. She should have an MRI though because she could have had a small stroke too. When I got the Palsy the doc said that there were no stroke symptoms but he didn't order any scans or tests to make sur. I had an MRI early this year because of other reasons and two small strokes showed up that I hadn't been aware of. I think the Palsy may have triggered them off or vice versa.

2. She's always looked (and sounded) like that to me |
|
Is it something new you've noticed?

4. Noticable Difference Today |
|
I watch DN almost every day on link TV. Today the right side of Amy's mouth look droopy as did her right eye. My husband who is not an observant person yelled out right away "hey what's wrong with Amy goodman" When I looked I thought it was also extremely noticeable.

3. I only listen to her, not watch her, so I don't really know. Does she look |
|
ad normal? I mean I've seen her on TV once or twice and an occasional picture of her, but I never noticed anything that stood out as strange.

It looks as if she is speaking from her left side and her right may be slightly paralyzed. Same with the eye movement and blinking. I don't know what it is though.

Hope Ms.Goodman is feeling better. We love watching Democracy Now and seeing her today was quite a shock. Of course it led me to find this cool forum and sign up here.
Stroke or Bell's Palsy were my guesses. Since it seemed sudden and she was going about regular business... I'm assuming Bell's Palsy. Where did you get the confirmed information?
Good for her, she just keeps up the good work regardless. Power to the people Amy! She rocks!
Peace, erica

I've never even seen a picture of her, but when I lived in Los Angeles used to listen to her Democracy Now program every morning and she is simply one of the bravest, brightest, most conscientious and perceptive journalists around.
