I really loved their morning 5:30 AM to 9:00 AM news show.

It is local and relevant and upbeat for me at this early in the morning. They have, however, begun playing brief clips of the Rush show that the station airs later in the day.

I told them that while I love their morning news show, I could no longer justify having them on my radio. I told them it was bad enough to have to change it after their show because of the offensive talk format...boortz/rush/hannity/ but to now subject us to a clip of rush every morning, was just too much.


I talked personally to the morning anchor and told him they did a great job with local news and interesting tid-bits and celebrity news, I just could not stomach anymore the rush clips. I asked them which radio station I could listen to that had a great a morning show without the bloated fat ass? They didn't know...hehe. I also told them that I had many friends that felt the same way.


He said he was sorry to lose listeners as they didn't have many to start with. I told them if they would play clips of other people such as KO...they would gain many listeners

3. One note,

Forget the local DJs. They have no control over what goes on the station. Call the Program Director, the Sales Manager and the General Manager. They are the ones making the decisions.

As for the one minute Rush clips, what happens is the syndicator makes the local station play the bit and the ad that follows. One thing you can remind the station manager that they can play the commercial and NOT air the bit. We used to do that on our station.
