This reminds me of the TV show, a few years back, created by atheists, which showed film of a worship meeting of the followers of John the Baptist, with narration which assumed that this would be horribly upsetting to Christians. On the contrary, it filled me with extreme joy to see their joyful faces. We love John the Baptist, and his followers as well. Jesus told the disciples plainly not to interfere with John's disciples. Jesus said that all people who were not against His message of love, generosity, forgiveness, and self-control were actually with Him. He said that anyone who loved much would have much forgiven him, and that those who hunger and thirst after righteousness would be filled someday, and that those who die for justice would be rewarded, and that thsoe who help people in trouble would go into the life everlasting. He said the highesst law was to treat others with the kindess you want for yourself, and that above all we must be kind or we are not his followers. As for the Four Noble Truths (Buddhist?), if they inspire noble behavior in those who read them, then Rock on with them! The Ten Commandments have helped many people hold on (sometimes with white knuckles) to their self-control. Whatever has aided you, oh fellow-pilgrim, to love, give, forgive, understand, and refrain from grabbing, badmouthing, and scheming against the rest of us, by all means, tell us about it. Whatsoever is pure, whatsoever is kind...if there be any virtue, or any good report, think on these things." (whoops, there I go, quoting the Bible again). The world is reeling into darkness. If you have any words that can help us lift up our heads and hang on to any shred of lovingkindness, please speak up. Oh, yes, about "Allah Akhbar" - It's fine with us if they want to say that. We think He's pretty great, too.
