1. Stewart was cowering, dude
And he can't get it, which pisses Matthews no end. This could be useful infotainment.

2. he took Matthews by surprise
I'll bet Matthews thought he would come on there and be treated like some kind of hero, but Stewart actually read his book . . .

amazed you didn't get it.

17. I'm interested in Stewart's view that our lives shouldn't be run like campaigns
as opposed to the premise in the book (which Matthews affirmed) that our lives are like campaigns and are effectively managed as individual campaigns.

19. So am I, but how can someone who changed his last name
to "make it" claim to be authentic? The irony is delish.

21. I think that's another issue entirely
I don't think we need to focus on the personalities to the exclusion of the subject they were discussing. Matthews seemed sincere about the premise of his book as he defended it. Stewart was similarly resolute in his rejection of that premise as he read and understood it.

5. You keep repeating that nonsense. What in the heck do you mean?
It makes no sense at all. Stewart owned the interview from start to finish. Cowering? Funny, insightful, razor sharp, eviscerating, truthful, dead on, aggressive, and priceless but not cowering.

15. He acted like Matthews was gonna sock him - you missed it?
Edited on Tue Oct-02-07 11:05 PM by Fredda Weinberg
He held it for almost a minute at a time and I saw it twice. And you thought Stewart controlled the interview?

I'm no fan of Matthews, but in this case

Ha!

3. Yessss!1 Jon *demolished* Tweety!!1 & all Tweety could do was to attempt to bully his way through
Edited on Tue Oct-02-07 10:55 PM by UTUSN
screeching, "This is the WORST interview! You are the WORST! The WORST!" Like repetition makes it so.

Then Tweety continued with his bullying, "You are AFRAID of this book! AFRAID! AFRAID!"

& Jon replied, "Yes, I am afraid of FASCISM!1"

So, what was Tweety's great riposte?!1 "Come on Hardball" Uh, WHY, Tweetster, to boost your pathetic ratings?!1
