Limpballs is feeding off all the controversy swirling around him
Of that you can be sure. Nothing the House or Senate does will put the brakes on him. He loves this stuff. The Senate writes a letter to the CEO of Clear Channel and gets back a letter defending rush. If the House passes a condemnation of him, it'll almost certainly be along party lines. I'd bet his ratings go up. I applaud the effort to get him off Armed Service radio, but it ain't gonna work. All the notoriety will likely simply serve to boost his ratings.

2. Yep, any publicity, even negative publicity, is good publicity
This will pump up his dwindling number, luring back former listeners who had drifted away, and give him street creds for fightin' those damned liberals:eyes: In fact this might all be part of his plan, act so outrageous that he makes the headlines, and thus pumps up his numbers. It's an old trick, but a good one.

3. Well he be taken off AFN? That's what should happen from this.
Let the advertisers who still want to associate with him, do so, but cut off taxpayer subsidizing of this swill.

9. I doubt it. Of course it's outrageous that he's on it
and it was outrageous before his most recent comments. Mind boggling really. But if i was to bet on it, I'd bet his show continues to air on AFN.

6. I hope he enjoys his last moments on Earth.
After thousands of very angry veterans come home he might end up dead one day. :)

7. This isn't an impossible task.
The Democrats hold the purse strings. All they have to do is take away the funds for fatso's program.

10. no big surprise
when the shit gets stirred up, the bottom feeders come out for a feast

and if you think limbaugh's phoney soldier comment caused a big stir, just wait a day or so - coulter has a new book out and if she stays true to style - she'll call someone a fag or something else insulting...

13. has anyone asked her set an example on this?
she and those who agree with her should revoke their voters registration, tear up their political party cards and hold signs on the streets saying "No to VOTING"

Furthermore, all men who agree with her position should also refrain from voting as a sign of solidarity.

actually the sign I would like to see her hold would "I'm too stupid to vote" - this would explain why bush was (s)elected twice

12. I think you may be a bit too cynical.
Sure he loves this, otherwise he couldn't have survived this far. However, in Lush's case, he has some sensitivity to real criticism--it pisses him off!
People who are highly pissed off tend to become even more careless about their criticisms of others and he's no exception.

There's a bunch of people who have been coasting along, eating their daily, sleepy ration of rush, nodding their heads and blessing the master, who have woken up.
Perhaps woken up is a bit too strong a term, but they have been disturbed and some of them are questioning.
Lumpblow's term is nearly over. He has his billion dollars and his bad case of gas.
He is hated by more people than I'll ever know and, it the grand scheme of things, he will not be missed nor long mourned.

The wingers' incompetence and despicable world-view has become so obvious that even saint Ronnie's image has taken a beating and the "Weakly" Standard rep who was on Hairball, last night, admitted that only about a third of the US population who give a damn are republican.

Things really are going to get better, but likely not before they are so totally f**ked up that it will be scarcely noticeable.

14. I don't know -
I agree that he's making hay out of it but it does cut to the heart of his belief system and his opinion of himself. While i think he likes the fight, part of him does seem genuinely worried that this story might finally wake the military up to whose side he is on. Namely he's in favor of sending them to die and opposed to veterans care.

That's always been true, but he probably doesn't like the idea of confronting it.

I don't see a way of getting rid of it except to appeal to the channels that carry this filth. It should be considered on the same level as pornography.

16. t's this year he finally goes off the deep end...
I think you're right. The guy markets a pretty good martyr complex-- the taller he says his cross is, the higher his ratings go.

I do think however, that it's this year he finally goes off the deep end. His story is Roy Cohn's story-- in the end, he will be remembered as nothing more than joke.

17. Sure he is.
But the rational response to freaks like Russ should never be based on what their actions may be. This is an opportunity for democrats to highlight the ugly, dishonest, and unpatriotic tactics of the pro-war republican right wing.
