How Limbaugh's Comments Became a Referendum on the Democrats
This morning the Today Show finally discussed the remarks made by Rush Limbaugh in which he claimed that soldiers who were against the war were phony soldiers. Instead of just discussing the comments the Reporters alluded to the ideas that the Democrats were only attacking Limbaugh because they could not get anything done Congress and their rating was so low.

The segment started off with the reporter who conducted the story pointing that the Democrats wanted Clear Channel, the company that puts out Limbaugh show, to condemn him. She then read a statement from Clear Channel that stated, given Limbaugh's support for soldiers we find it hard to condemn him. The segment did actually show Limbaugh making the comments, but as the segment was ending the reporter, instead of talking more about Limbaugh, saying that the Democrats have not been able to get things done, they have a low rating, and it was unclear that they would be able to get the votes needed to pass the legislation condemning Limbaugh. Before and after the segment Matt Lauer asked if this was what Congress should be doing with their time. My question is why did they not ask this question when Republicans were pushing for the Senate to condemn Moveon.org.

1. I used to like Matt Lauer
But seriously, he's been pretty damn biassed against the Dems lately. He had nothing to say about the Pubs debating the Moveon ad last week. :grr: :banghead:

3. Today did exactly the same thing with the O'Reilly remark, calling it a "smear job" by
Media Matters.

They couldn't directly blame the Democrats for that one though, although "liberal bloggers" got a mention for their unreasonable attack on poor BillO.

They have become such blatant propagandists that I've given up on watching. Thanks for keeping us updated.

4. The repubes
only pay attention to what can gain them more political power.
side note,
An old friend of mine called me yesterday to tell me he felt bad and apologized for being a dumb ass. (its been 6 years since our argument)he was listening to rush when rush said those disparaging remarks. he said it took about 30 min to sink in. The feeling was overwhelming. All he could do was turn off rush and it took him awhile to call me. because how he felt led along, and fooled by the propagandist right. I told him i forgave him long ago and invited him to hang out to watch football this weekend. He swore to vote Dem from now on. (and never listen to rush again) and is researching our candidates to pick his favorite. i directed him to the sec of state office website to change his party affiliation from R to D.
