President Bush says he vetoed the SCHIP bill because
it was a step toward "federalizing" medicine.

What is wrong with this guy. Yet he wants 190 billion for his war.

17. Sadly, it's not.
I work with some Bushies and they're all elated over this, saying things like "the fucker finally got a spending bill right" and "where was that veto when we needed it earlier?"

It's fascinating (in a stomach-chruning way, anyway) to see how these people think. You think you're getting a taste by lurking at "Free" Republic, but you're really not. One quote I heard today: "Hey, fuck low-income kids. I didn't father any of them."

22. This is why I don't feel so confident of a Dem blow out in the election. There
are a LOT more people out there who feel that way than we know. I hope you have a big bottle of Tums on your desk.

26. Believe it or not,
I have two bottles of the CVS Tums generic equivalent. I couldn't get by without it.

Want to hear another gem from these clowns?

"Right, because someone makes the choice to give birth they're automatically entitled to a chunk of my fucking wallet. If they can't afford kids on their own, they need to stick to blowjobs."

Fortunately, these Tum equivalents come in several flavors. I like the lime ones best.

29. Hey I can play that game! Let's all play!
Just because someone wants to start an unnecessary war with a country, why are they entitled to a chunk of my wallet?

30. That was my response, along with
a few shots at excessive defense spending. You can guess what I was called, but considering the source I obviously don't give a shit.

10. Bush may be right..........maybe it would be a budget buster.......
but by all means let's have a national discussion about what we can afford and what we can't......beginning with the war on terror. Democrats and Republicans alike are closing their eyes and obligating money with no regard to who's going to pick up the tab. Our grandchildren deserve grandparents who are better stewards of the country's economy. None of them deserve to be up there.

Have you compared the price tag of the program to what we spend in Iraq on a monthly basis? Jesus Christ. :eyes:

SCHIP costs about $4.4 billion per year vs. $200billion per year or more for the Bush's wars.

19. Smoke screen. Meanwhile a foreign government (sheikdom) Dubai is buying 20% of NASDAQ and that is ok
We are witnessing the selling off of what we thought was America to foreign governments, not even democracies--sheikdoms run by ruling families. If we, as the US government tried to buy NASDAQ the Bush Republicans would be screaming: Socialism !

The fact is the Bush family and the Republican ruling families probably like the way these sheikdoms operate and are trying to do the same here.

Another 15 months of this and we may never be able to dig ourselves out of this massive economic sinkhole. Bush is selling our country out from under us.

31. This made the BBC radio news last night...
It is shocking to the British that children have no access to free medical care and are denied insurance. The NHS has big problems but if you have a sick child, they care is amazing. We Brits take
for granted that peace of mind that having the NHS there gives.
