1. The authorities need to "investigate" all the homeowners involved,
and any who are found to be "smaller-government" Republicans who want the gubmint out of their lives and want lower taxes should be denied assistance in dealing with this mess.

Let them pay for repairs and damages out of their own self-centered pockets.......

2. Ironically
that is an area of the city where we do have a problem with small gub'mint republicans

Trust me, they will be not happy campers tonight, as they will have to stay at a red cross shelter.

Oh the horror!

And not all residents are republican though

4. News coverage shows residents complaining about how the city let them down.
Some very angry La Jollans crying about city government.

5. But, but, but they don't want to PAY for the service
fees that would have allowed the city to better serve them

That's why the poor cops and firefighters responding are amongts the lowest paid public servants in the state and we have a case of blue flight

6. We were just having an office debate on whether it's "God's revenge" or not!
And for what reason that God might take revenge, with the controversial Mt. Soledad cross sitting on government land nearby.

Some claim it's god's revenge that we keep fighting it being there, and others are saying it's god's revenge that we don't have homage to Krishna, Buddha, Mohammed, and other religious figures on government land.

One person has a house that's only about a mile away from it who I share an office with.

7. Can't The Free Market Fix It?
Look up Free Market in the phone book and give it a call. I'm sure it'll be there in a jiff.

8. It looked to me like a section of the bluff was slipping
There's not much that government can do about that. Zoning could have put the area off limits to construction, but Repukes view zoning as an illegal taking of thier property If you build in a slide area you're on your own.

11. Fortunately, no one was hurt AFAIK ...
It's too bad a huge sinkhole couldn't just swallow up any ground that Little Lord Pissypants was prancing on.
