The U.S. death toll in Iraq for September 2007 is 66
It climbed by three since the media announced 63.

This is curious:

Post Iraq Deaths Not Confirmed By the DoD
Name Date
Richards, Jack D. 29-Jul-2007
Cassidy, Gerald J. 25-Sep-2007

Note: The soldiers listed above died from wounds received in Iraq, however, the DoD has not included their deaths in their official count.

How many deaths fall into this category?

1. Would anyone here be surprised if the new criteria for having your death
Counted as casualty of war was something along the lines of you have to die with the words "For my President over all" on your lips??

2. Is there any doubt that they are gaming those numbers?
If jr has anything at all to do/say about it they are using every trick they can to keep the real numbers a secret.

3. it appears that the DOD has not yet confirmed cause of death
Yes, both were wounded in action. But the linked stories leave open the question of what the cause of death was in each case. While icasualties states that they died from their wounds, I don't see that in the stories. Maybe there is more information elsewhere.
