Question: can the next president end the occupation? |
|
Without Congressional approval, that is.
Can he/she just say, "I'm commander, and they're coming home"?

Ron Paul (in the weird hypothetical scenario where he becomes president) couldn't pull out without Congressional approval. I think that's wrong.
However, didn't Bush need the IWR to go in?

12. The IWR was an authorization to use force if necessary. It was not a WAR declaration. |
|
IF the reich wing is going to claim the "Urinary Executive" can have all the power, why not let him have the power to remove troops from an illegal occupation?
Face it we are not in the country we were taught about in civics class. The illegal Supreme Court Decision in Bush v Gore was a Judicial coup.
Jr never had the legal authority to start a war with Iraq. The Constitution of the USA reserves the right to declare war for the Congress. War was never declared.
Why would Congressional action be required to end an illegal occupation?

The same why they do it now. Either pretend it didn't happen or say she got tricked.
Hell, if she wins they'll probably end up saying why we need to stay in Iraq and why it was a good idea all along and how we should just shut up and support the troops.

...the IWR. It gave the President the authority to use military force as he sees fit-- or to not use it. All without an actual declaration of war.
