1. Depends entirely upon which specific virus you refer to.
Rabies vs the common cold, for instance.

5. Icky.... A new anti-biotic called 'No more oil for transporting shit'
will erradicate the virus, but not until the host has expired to the point that 2 out of 5 doctors want to stop trying to save the patient.
