George Bush hates sick children, and so does anyone who
doesn't vote to override his veto of SCHIP.

George, why do you hate sick children? Republicans, why do you hate sick children?

Heartless bastards.

1. One of the purposes of SCHIP is to keep children well
Kids are the cheapest group to insure as most of them are lucky enough to stay healthy and only need "routine maintenance". Even when it's not routine - it's way cheaper to run a throat culture and prescribe an anitbiotic than it is to treat the heart problems untreated strep throat can cause.

3. Let's have a "George W. Bush Memorial Cemetary" in every state
Malloy puts it best, Republicans hate all life on Earth after it's out of the womb.

4. "The Republicans Don't Care About Our Sick Children"
Edited on Wed Oct-03-07 08:40 PM by DinahMoeHum
Someone like the DNC's Dr. Howard Dean should use this fact to club the Goopers on the head hard and often all of 2008.

:kick:

Hold it, I just remembered. Somebody already is willing to do this. It's Eric Massa, who is running for Congress in New York's 29th C.D.

5. Here's the phony reason Bush says he vetoed the bill:
Bush says he vetoed it because it will lead to "government run health care." Canada has, according to his way of thinking, "goverment run health care." Well, actually George, it's not government run, it's government PAID...which is a big difference. Our doctors and hospitals make all the decisions. The government PAYS THE BILLS! Someone should tell Bush and those who think like him that in the latest poll up here, 93% of our population said they want to keep our system. Isn't that what should tell you what you need to know? If the people are satisfied with it, then it must be the right way to go.

7. When discussing universal Health w/people....
I always have to remind them of exactly what you said - it's not 'run' by they government it's government PAID. Geez some of the RW W-Nuts I've had to deal with.

I usually win the arguement because I used to live under a very good system in Australia. Better than even Canada's. You always here stuipid stuff like "then why do rich Canadian's come here for really important stuff" blah blah - my answer is Canada is not the beacon of perfection when you want to look at UH. We never had to 'go' anywhere in Australia. Sometimes very odd or rare cases went to the US.

I'm sure there is even less of that know - it's amazing just what the University of Melbourne has come up with over the last 5-6 years even.

gggggggrrrrr at anyone who ever supported this war but would say NO to kids getting health care.

For the record, guess who worked long and hard on this bill and voted YES for it (in fact many Repukes did) Orrin Hatch! OMG! Heard that on NPR yesterday. I about crashed my car!

Cheers
Sandy

11. That is another myth that is perpetuated by the right wing nuts.
I've heard it said on American TV too...."then why do rich Canadian's come here for really important stuff"....Once in a while someone will go to the U.S.A for treatment or an operation for some reason or other. Perhaps they live near the U.S.A border and the nearest hospital is closer or whatever. Of course the right wing play this up as if people are constantly rushing down there for medical help. But the fact is we have every thing here in the way of treatment or surgery that is available in the U.S.A. In fact our former Prime Minister, Jean Chretien, had quadruple bi-pass just yesterday, in Montreal. There are waiting times for elective surgery, but that is true everywhere.
I've said it before and I'll say it again....I hope and pray you good people in the U.S.A get universal health care too!

6. Bush's compassionate conservatism deficates down the throats
...of America's poorest and sickest children.

Web definitions for compassionate conservativism
Consists of smiling while cheating women, minorities, the working class and their children out of their share of the nation's productive output. Replaces the term friendly fascism....
