The forecast highs in Detroit for the next five days are all above 80....
going into the second week of October. There's scarcely an orange leaf to be found around here: It's all summer green.
Even the most fervent global warming deniers have got to admit that something's kind of strange.....

2. Isn't fall usually one of the warmer seasons in Southern Cali?
I know it is in Northern California? San Francisco's summer seems to be September and October.

4. My maples are turning orange and the hickory's are going yellow here in mid-mich
but its not due to cold weather. Had one frost scare in mid-sept but it didn't pan out.

Still plucking zuchinni and tomatoes out of the garden.

Suits me just fine, indeed. Haven't had to fire the furnace yet this season. I hope the oil companies drown in their surplus of heating oil.

14. Not unusual
I've seen 70s and low 80s in the midwest in the first week of October.

And lack of color could be related either to rainfall amounts or that color hasn't reached there yet.

If it's 80 by the end of the month, then that's an issue.

15. Upper 80's all week here in St. Louis.
Yep, it's global warming for sure.

When I was a kid back in the 80's, which wasn't too long ago, we'd be wearing sweaters and jeans this time of year instead of t-shirts and shorts.

17. The weather here in Michigan has been disconcerting ...
In my heart I really believe we are experiencing the effects of warming (more obviously than others) because of the Great Lakes.

It is in the 80's and it is October and this is quite unusual ...especially for us older folk (me: mid 40's) that remember MUCH cooler weather this time of year.

No leaf color changes here either.

I'm so sick and tired of warm weather. I want "football weather".

My dogs are blowing their undercoats - never happened before.

21. Still using my car A/C - In Canada, in OCTOBER
I woke up yesterday, looked at my outside thermometer - 17.4 (63.3 Fahrenheit) degrees at 7:00 in the morning.

And our fall colors are just about right on time.

I hear that changing leaf colors depend less on temperature than it does on hours of daylight.

23. I had to run my AC last night so I could sleep. In Ohio! In October!
Edited on Thu Oct-04-07 06:37 AM by mwb970
October used to be part of autumn season - crisp days, cold nights. Here in Columbus, the forecast for the next week is the same as every day but two during the last month: clear, high in the upper 80s, clear overnight, low in the upper 60s. Day after day after day after day of the exact same weather.

It's a good thing global warming is just an invention of the drive-by liberal media. Otherwise, I'd be getting worried about now.

22. It's going to be heading toward the 80's in New Hampshire, too.
I planted late crops in the garden "just in case" and we're eating a new batch of string beans, lettuce, spinach and cherry tomatoes. The zinnias I plant among the vegetables are waist high and they just keep blooming. If there's an up side to global warming, this is it.
