Torture back on the agenda at the WH w/comments (Perino/Obama)
http://blogs.usatoday.com/ondeadline/2007/10/torture-back-on.html

"Our program has always been within U.S. law and international obligations," spokeswoman Dana Perino says.

"This country does not torture," she said. "We have not and we will not torture anyone."

"Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., has already issued a statement saying the "secret authorization of brutal interrogations is an outrageous betrayal of our core values, and a grave danger to our security."

1. There's another damned lie.
The US trains people in the methods of torture and financed the research on real, living people...who are still living with the disconnect.

The "nicer" torture that the US uses was developed, a great deal of it, on real people at McGill in Canada, a number of whom are alive and dealing with memory loss and other disconnects more severe than the original mental problems they were being treated for.
